After MGS4 series is finished whats next big game franchise for PS3?

There's something for every genre. Kind of sad if MGS4 is the only one you think that deserves the look.

I like to see more new games use the uncharted engine.

I can't really think of any game series that's had the impact that MGS has on PlayStation. But if I had to put my money on a new series, I'd have to guess Uncharted.

Exclusive?

I would say FFXIII, God of War, White Knight Story is looking cool, Killzone, and LBP.

Non-Exclusive-RE5, Bionic Commando could be promising, and Dead Space looks fantastic.

Of course, resistance2 and gow3 is goin to help sell more ps3 units at the end of this year around the holidays.

Well, the MGS series may be finished after 4, but I don't think Kojima has said anything about ending the Metal Gear series. MGS4 is just the last game for Solid Snake. I have a feeling MGS4 is gonna sell even better than Konami or Sony expects, and there is no way they will let a money pot like that go if they can do anything about it. Also, as others have said in this post, there are plenty of other games coming out this year and next, most of which are part of a series.MyzeDivine

yeah, MGS3 and PO is set before MGS1, they coud just make one set earlier in time.

Haze comes before MGS4 (May 22nd or somewhere around there). I agree this game is probably going to be a lot better than people think. In fact I wouldn't be surprised it gets rated as the best PS3 game to that point....of course the title will only last about 3 weeks lol.

I think this year is pretty well set. MGS4 may be the biggest news for exclusivity this year, but there isn't any shortage of games on the horizon.

Sony has plenty of old ground it can revisit and most big 3rd party games are on PS3 also.

Atm Sony's possible big hits.

Resistance 2, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, FF13, Socom, Project Ico, GT5, GoW3, White Knight Story, The Agency, 8-days, HOME, and HeavyRain.

(note that NCsoft is working on something for PS3)

3rd party possible hits.

Fallout 3, Prototype, Star Wars unleashed, Res 5, Mercenaries 2, (possibly Crysis), Bionic Commando, TC-RV 2, BF-Bad company, TR-underworld, Dead Space, Etc... you can add on to this for awhile.

So I'd say life after MGS4 for the ps3 is pretty bright. I worry more for my wallet, then lack of games.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Grand Turismo 5? If I'm correct that is the biggest Sony PlayStation franchise to date.

I think that MGS is still going to be there, even if its not the next big thing. Sorry I don't have the link for it, but their was a report that after Kojima, some other Japanese guy will continue the MGS series. wether that's good or bad is another story.

If we're talking about successful established franchises we have Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, R&C, J&D and God Of War.

As for games that have the potential of becoming successful long term franchises there's Killzone, Uncharted, Resistance, Motorstorm, LBP and Rockstar's "next big franchise".
