Aliens vs Predator: Is it Worth Buying/Renting for the PS3?

I haven't been able to try it out, and i'm thinking about renting it. But idk if it's worth the money (Because rentals seem to be getting more expensive every day). I wanted to hear some of your opinions on this subject.

I got a blockbuster membership for a few months last year and I played it. It's alright, but I don't think it warrants an individual rental I think that would be too much for it. The game for me was just kinda shallow.... and I'm a huge AvP fan.

I haven't actually played the game, but I recommend Red Box if you have it close by. Only $2 per night, seems like the way video stores screw you is by offering 4 or 5 night rentals in the $8 range.

Another good way to sample games is Gamefly, great service but I didn't make enough use of it so I cancelled.

Great little game IMO i got it for £8 and really enjoyed it only beat it in solider mode, need to get it back on to beat it in alien and predator mode

It's definitely worth a rental. It isn't amazing, but it's worth playing for the Alien and Predator campaigns, with the highlight being the horrifically violent and gory stealth kills!

i got it new for $20 from a closing down video store, and i feel its $20 worth of "okay". Story mode is brief for alien and Predator. Marine has a nice feel to it early on, but falls into dull maps and repetative level design. Good for a play through, havent felt the need to go back through it. online is sloppy but has its fun parts. "infestation" is one of the best online modes ever. Really stays true to the alien vibe. "survivor" is a nice wave attack mode, though with only 2 free maps, it gets boring fast.

If you've played the old AVP2 back on the PC, then you've played this title.

I purchased the game recently and I got to say... it's not worth it. Plenty of other great games you can pick up. The 3 campaigns are forgetable at best. The online community is practically dead. It's a bargain bin game, nothing more.

Got the game recently after the price finally dropped... It's decent. You need to play after dark, and with headphones on. There are a couple of great scripted moments in the Marines campaign so far, be warned there are no iron-sights it's old-school from-the-hip aiming. I like it, not bad for the price that's for sure. I don't play much online, so that I couldn't tell you about.
