If Sony in-fact wins this generation, it's going to be all the more sweeter, because they would have had to do it with so many people doubting them. So many people already calling them a failure, and saying they have no chance to catch up to the Wii, and 360 in sales. All this negative news has in a sense made them the underdog as crazy as it sounds, and I don't know about you, but I tend to root for the underdog most of the time, and I know I'm not the only one.

I definitely like rooting for the underdog. But in all honesty, I didn't really think PS3 would end up the underdog this generation. Weird how things turned out like that...

But if (when) they do catch up...I don't know. Someone should archive some of those bashing threads out there and save them for later.

I'm not rooting for anybody out of some sense of Underdog love. I'm rooting for Sony because they are who i gave $600 of my money to and I don't want to spend that kind of cash on a system that isn't being supported by devs and publishers. I have to admit that I'm starting to get pretty worried.

I don't care who wins the console war, as long as there are games on the PS3 that I want to play. the 360 is out of the question for me, and I won't buy a Wii until they drop the price at least $100 dollars.

All this bashing is a signal that Sony is actually doing a great job of delivering a reliable system. Most of this bashing is from box owners that are waiting for there broken box to be delivered.

I'm sorry but you are clearly dillusional. Sony has issues that it has to deal with. If they do, then they will destroy the competion. If they don't, the PS3 will be the next Dreamcast.

Sadly truer than most want to admit :(

Ade.

*edit* Just wanted to add that pretty much everyone knows that the last gen war was not considered a 3 horse race as Ninty fell far behind due to dev / publisher abandonment etc. and the public just not taking to a third machine. People constantly forget that Ninty were profitable from day one for GC, and again for Wii, and regardless of whether their latest machine died tomorrow they would still come out of it smelling of roses. MS and Sony on the other hand have sunk a huge chunk'o'cash into their consoles and they NEED to be winning to be recovering costs spent on development and manufacture etc. A totally different economic model to Ninty and one based on higher risk. Falling behind bundled with high risk could be harder for Sony than any of us imagine. It is a huge gamble that they have undertaken with the PS3.

How so? It has fairly stong sales, a strong software library, system selling games coming, and they seem to have their logo everywhere. The advertizing keeps them in the public mind.

VERY TRUE, you can check my past threads im a sony supporter but things need to be fixed.  I just seen and ad for the 360 tenchu z demo.  They have ads for there many, many, many demos.

-why does the ps3 not get the demos

-why not more map packs

I hear many people say be patient but i plan to make my decision by oct.  The ps3 needs to do better by then for i think most people because early x-mas shoppers will be buying soon.  I see small progress, but not enough.  Just be honest for a minute.

You know, this negative PS3 news is really getting on my nerves.  I understand that news reviewers have to choose their news, but why always 'ps3 employee fired' or 'ps3 sales still slow', or 'ps3: 10 things which suck', instead of 'xbox 360s still breaking', 'lack of good games on Wii much worse than ps3's'?

I agree with you. I love my PS3 but I can see why some people find it so hard to get on board with. I do think this will change in the very near future but only if sony gets off its @$$ and does what they have been talking about. They also need to stop ignoring the $600 elephant in the room.
