Usually the PS3 saves where you were during downloads so when it starts back up it picks up where it left off. It happened to me too. Well sort. It downloaded and installed by didn't restart. I waited and waited then decided to restart it myself. And it works. For now. It used to freeze a lot during gameplay and the update didn't fix it so I don't know!

I doubt the 2.01 update is changing how the system boots up, so it worse case would require a re-install of the latest update.

Hmm, whenever I'm updating it never even makes it anywhere near 100%, it always gets around 60% and then just zooms to 100. Anyone else's PS3 do this?

Yep mine took bowt the same.I thought 2.01 must of had a lot in it cos of time it took, but all i noticed so far is a new button in store-from videos to videos and media-But this probrably isn't anything to do with the update.

I remember another user mentioning what if this sort of thing happened...

He got flamed and other things started being compared:

"What if a comet hits down and destroys the PS3?"

And the likes.

Anywhose, good news.:D

It will only brick when the power gets cut out while it's installing the update.

I think it's because the remaining 40% are for your last updates so it doesn't really require it....

Invest in a ups (uninterrupted power supply). That way you have at least an extra 10-15 mins of power for situations like that.
