Can anyone tell me of an ONLINE RPG (or online game that is mostly an RPG) that has a near endless replayability level? For example, what Monster Hunter was. It had a persistent online world that you could keep logging on and was virtually endless. Some people suggested Demon's Souls, but really, what I was looking for was something in the format of White Knight Chronicles, only... Good. Like Vindictus on the PC.

Won't DS get too repetitive? Is there any other game I'm missing?

IMO Demon's souls never gets old. It's $30 right now, so might as well just get it

For a game to have almost-endless replay value it really depends on the person, for example the game I can get almost-endless replay value from is borderlands but mostly from single player. The way I see the game is do multiple playthroughs on one character and get max level, then either start another character or start playing online with other people/friends(bosses,help with quests, etc) and to me this equals almost-endless fun. But it seems like your leaning more towards mmo like games(may be completely off), so I suggest waiting for dc universe or if you can wait even longer FFIV. Also dungeon siege 3 may be worth looking into, dungeon siege 2 is fun playing lan on computers and 3 is coming to ps3, but no idea what the multiplayer is going to be like.

I cannot think of one on PS3, only PC (Diablo II). Other then that it would have to be an MMO, so I guess FF XIV when it comes out, but that didnt exactly get favorable reviews lol. Oh and IMO demons souls is extremely overrated and if I played it as much as some people do I would gouge my eyes out :P.

might not be your cup of tea but if you like grinding better and better characters/classes/gear then disgaea series is good. i think your characters can hit level 999 or maybe it was 9999 i dont remember

I haven't tried Demons Souls for myself, but from what i've heard it's a pretty darn addictive game, and if im not wrong it did get the 'GOTY Award' here on gamespot last year. So that's pretty darn impressive on it's part (it was against unbeatable games, and it came up on top against all odds IMO)

BUT... This game is unforgiving in every way, i remember someone having a Demons Souls sig a while back saying: "Get good or die", and that pretty much sums things up :P. Anyways im sure you'll find a game out there to occupy your time with bro.

This year will be an amazing year for the PS3 ;)

Just play WoW. Everyone knows that's the best way to go. Warning: May be very addicting!

Sacred 2 was pretty cool but I didn't think it had much in the way or replay. I got really bored going around looking for the next fetch quest to fulfill.

Demon's Souls, on the other hand, has TRUE replay value in that the game is so engaging to play that you just want to keep doing it.

It sounds like what your describing is MMOs.. Majority of them have monthly fees but pretty much give you endless ammounts of content. But wait for Guild Wars 2 completely free MMO/Action Adventure for the PC.

One reason Demon's Souls gets mentioned is there are 9 difficulty levels to play through, which will take you a LOOOOONG time.

WoW and any other MMO = BORING! Click to attack. Now wait. Now click and wait for a spell. Now wait. Now heal. Now wait. Now attack. UGH! That' why I like Vindictus, a really underground and unknown game that is still in the beta. Brings a whole new concept to the table. Basically, it's a bunch of co-op missions that involve a persistent character evolution system and in which you can buy better weapons, armor and upgrade your strength or agility. Really, probably the best concept for me, only I want something close to that on the PS3 and that is actually FUN. White Knight Chronicles delivers an incredibly deep online interface that would offer infinite replayability had it been a better game.

Timesplitters 2 and Warcraft 3 had great replayability for me but on the ps3 the games that had me hooked the longest were borderlands and dragon age origins, multiple chars in both games to play through with, and in borderlands 2 (soon to be 3 playthroughs). Also that dc online game looks like it will last a long time dunno if its click wait or button mashing tho.

Why do people consider endless (grinding, brainless,plot-less) games fun?

For the same reason you consider brainful, plotful and endful games fun; they like it.

each to there own i suppose. like you i see no lasting fun in those kind of games. i tried WoW threw a free trial and just could not see what was so great. maybe i didnt give it enough of a chance. same with diablo 2. guy who used to run a PC shop in my town played that game seemingly 24/7. even when i was suppose to be working lol. id watch him play and just for the life of me could not see what was so engrossing about it. give me an rpg like ff6-9 or even oblivion/fallout 3.

Well from what I hear, White Knight Chronicles 2 is coming to the US, with a better combat system and revamped the original to play like the newer system. I'm not sure if its online though, but I would think it is since it continues from the original story.

WKC had an online mode with quests designed for players in coop, but was badly designed as access to quests was limited by guild level and soon had to do quests over and over to get up in guild level

That does sounds like it's going to be good, but WoW is still good for now.
