Alright, I'm not one of the 360 nerds

It plays Blu-rays, is quieter than the 360 (by a huge amount compared to my 360 buzzsaw), and has some neat PSN titles, namely Wipeout HD.

If you're looking strictly in terms of games, though, you won't find a huge number just yet once you take multiplatform stuff out of the equation. There's Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted and the upcoming Little Big Planet. Nothing else really qualifies as a spectacular system seller.

It has tons of exclusive games out and all the way, have you played all the PS2 exclusives? One of the countless reasons to get this system is to see those franchises continue. Both systems have their great games, that's why I own them both (and the Wii).

Some exclusives to think about: MGS4, Resistance (you mentioned both), Uncharted, Folklore, Disgaea 3, Motorstorm, Warhawk.... the list goes on.

Most games that are released are multiplats, that's why it's hard to mention a lot of amazing exclusives. I mean there are only a handful of EXCLUSIVE amazing Xbox games off the top of my head that I can name (Halo, Gears of War, Ninja Gaiden,). I can name a few more but you get my drift, there are always less exclusives then multiplatformers so to accuse a system for having less exclusives then another system, especially since it was released later, is kind of foolish.

Some exclusives coming out to think about: LittleBigPlanet (I'm going to hate it), Resistance 2, Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe, InFamous, Killzone 2, etc.

I'm not one of those Xbox 360 nerds who say Xbox 360 owns all or Halo 3 4 lyfe, but, honestly, what does the PS3 have that the xbox 360 doesn't besides better graphics. MGS4 is a great game, but I don't want to buy a console just for a game or 2. Resistance looks really cool...but, is there any other reason to buy it? I'm sure later in this year it will get better games and more. Well, it's just a question...I'm not trying to start a fight. lahdeedah

Depends on the game. I've certainly seen fewer people online in big games compared to the 360, though. And the whole cross media bar and friends list and messaging setup is clunky compared to the 360, but then again, it is free.

Quite a bit. Not as many as Xbox Live, I'll be honest, but a good number.

You won't find yourself without anyone to play with, that's for sure.

I will bet money (not a huge amount, a modest one) that by the end of the 360 era Microsoft will have made Xbox Live free.

Right now they have no need to, business is booming, people are a buying. However, I feel that if the popularity of the PS3 gets extremely high in the next two years then Microsoft will make online free to win some more people over.

Yeah I laughed out loud at that, but I didn't want to be the first one to point out an epic fail. :D Possibly the WiiHD is nintendo's new console, it's coming out in 2011 I hear, which is around the time where this generation is expected to end, isn't it?

On topic, both systems are great, hence this thread is pointless. If you want a multimedia center or an internet browser buy a computer, you will also get awesome games as a bonus on that.
