Am I better off leaving it on standby or flipping the switch off.

This question is only for those who still have their fat PS3's. When it comes to turning off my PS3 I need to know if I'm better off flipping the back switch or just leaving it on standby? I play my PS3 almost everyday and I always turn the system off by putting it on standby first then flipping the back switch. But I've been hearing people say that flipping the backswitch on the PS3 can damage it. So Im pretty much confused here.:?

I don't think it can damage it...but I never do it unless I'm actually moving my PS3 to another room. I've had my 40gb PS3 for a while now and I almost ALWAYS leave it on standby, and it works fine to this day.

I don't think there is a difference between both ways. Personally, I leave mine on stand-by because I play almost every day and I just press the PS button of the controller to turn my PS3 on. I have my PS3 almost 1,5 years and it works fine till now.

I actually turn mine off from the back. I don't know why, but I havn't had any problems, and have been turning it off from the back for about 2-3 years lol.
