That picture was the biggest dissapointment ever people go into detail to tell me why you thought it was good because im being honest its not that special... at allFF-resevil-halo
well we have seen a couple fake pics in the last 24 hours so compared to those it may not seem as good as we were hoping those other pics were actually real. but didnt look horrible but was not fantastic but hey if it looks like that and the gameplay is off the hook then who cares
no lol and im not gonna make one its under screeshots for the game on ign im sure someone will post itFF-resevil-halo
It's a virtual painting. It's a poster at E3. The real Killzone graphics were seen in the one and only trailer so far. This is a 40 million dollar project for a reason. Go on SCEA website. This image shows the progression and developments they made while thinking about the game.

You're NOT the only one that won't shut up about two pictures...

Do you honestly really think thats a real ingame shot of the game? Are you really that blind? Do you really think after all this hype they would release that image a day before the huge unveling at E3 tommrrow? gimme a break its called marketing. they want u to see that , ( which is an ingame shot of a poster on a wall) and go " eh that doesnt loook so great" then when they actually unveil it tommrwo and show u the real thing you basically go into a coma casue it looks so good. I can bet my life that that image shown today isnt the actually "game."
don't ignore the lighting of the room, it's dark, not the best environment to show offthe highestpicture quality. I don't know if it's an in game pic or a shot of a poster on a wall, but regardless, it still looks good to me considering the dim lighting in that room.

Upsized around 4X its not exactly phenomenal at the original resolution, but its a hell of a lot better than that.
All right, to the people who are saying that the picture looked awful, heres a few things to bite on. Firstly, that picture was handed to USA today by the guys at Guerilla, it was for an exclusivity deal they struck with them this morning to show the game for free press. 2nd, the developers who have spoken about the picture (a female QA manager spoke about it on a forum posting this morning) they have said the picture doesn't look like the real quality of the game, they just wanted to give people a taste. It's dark, that was done on purpose. The light shining off the helghast was a muzzle flash, not even a flashlight. However, take a close look at the detail on the helghast figure even through that lighting. He is fully realized, even down to straps that are holding his gear in place. Look at the face mask, and the subtle details you notice in there, including scratch marks and such. On top of that, look at the gun and the hand holdin it. There is barely a light source given off in that picture, but the LITTLE detail you see on the gun itself and hand is more impressive than any other shooter i've seen to date.
Give it a rest, although we won't see the footage of it till tomm. at some point, the guys at 1up will tell us about it tonight at 1am. just sit back for the time being.
Doesn't look good. Doesn't look good at all.
I really really hope that isn't actual in game footage. Because if it was, then damn. I will probably be right about Killzone 2.
The character models were very detailed, moreso than any game I have seen to date (except maybe Crysis). Just look at the flaps on the pockets, etc. However, the room looked bland, and the textures (including those on the character models)were blurry.
It seems like IGN took the small screenshot that was initially released by USA Today and upscaled it to a higher resolution via photo editing software of some sort, which would explain the blurriness.
Tbh, I don't think that specific screenshot was planned to be released by GG. I think USA Today got a few screens in as a preview, and then chose to put one up on their website. Hell, MotherH from the PlayStation forumseven said that the screen came out earlier than it was supposed to.
In conclusion, I don't think we should judge anything off of this specific shot. We should wait for more screens or a video from tonights presentation to surface.
It's a shopped poster of Killzone 1.

The "poster theory" has been debunked already.

They said the GAME is still inpre-pre-alpha, and that the screen was taken form the latest build...on Saturday night.

Amen brother, background looks bad but i was looking at the guys gun and FINGERNIAL the entire time, have never seen a hand holding a gun so detailed in a FPS before, also its pre-alpha and a teaser photo for threads like this.
