i am a single player SOCOM fan. i bought the games for the single player. in fact, ive played it online and think it sucks due to its lag and buggyish gameplay. that mixed in with everyone darting and jumping around isnt fun at all.
Yeah, I'm really dissapointed with the lack of single player. I don't do online so this game is pretty much dead to me now. Shame, I was really looking forward to it.

I enjoyed it, i just preferred playing online with real people. The single player missions are fun though. Had to play them to get the extra stuff for online. eg. gillie suit, guns, characters.
Single player was nice, but the real reason it was so popular is due to online play. It only makes sense for them to focus on what made their game sell well in the first place.
Relax everyone it might not even be the next actual installment
dont forget that Zipper is still working on an untitled game, maybe this is just to throw you off and then they will blow us away with the real Socom 4
this one just seems like a .5 game and not the next installment
but to answer the question yes single player was fun, but ask your self this, didnt it get better when they incorporated co-op online for Combined Assualt

Well said. Though I love the SP (S1 SP was the best..apart from boomer) I understand that this socom coming out is not the real deal blockbuster but a tie over and as such, I think making it MP only is a very good way to tie over socom fans.. and it looks like Xroads is back!
