You will be very surprised at the success this will bring. Sad or not, people like to interact over the internet. Check MySpace. This will give gamers a chance to show off their trophies, hang out with in-game friends while not playing games and just chill. In a serious Resistance clan? If you're the clan leader, make your room the HQ. Set it up with some Resistance-themed things and make it the hangout for your clan before matches, etc. The point is the possibilities are extremely large. Regardless if you love 360 or PS3, you have to know when an awesome idea is an awesome idea. And this is one.
Home is just awesome. The things they have planned for it (Movie Theatre, Themed Lounges, Apartments, 3rd Party Dev houses, etc) are all steps in the right direction. Can't wait to get my PS3 (looking at late May right now...)
Uh Yeah i think alot some 360 useers will convert unless they are too pridefull.. but this seems to be really cool cant wait to try it out :)takiobadtz

yea, i gotta say if they pull this off right, as in no big problems when its released, its gonna be very cool. hosting parties and listening to your own music, meeting people, playing games....this is better than sims 3 :)
Wow, I just saw the trailer for HOME and have to admit I wet myself during the video. When I first heard of HOME I thought it was going to a forum and or chat room for people on the PS3 but this is way beyond what I was thinking...
You can have your own little virtual apartment with furniture, a stereo, pool table, arcade machine, etc.? Wow so I can invite the cyber version of someone else over to chat and play a game of pool? How cool is that?
when I first saw Home it look so freaking beautiful and well done creative. I'am glad and proud to be a PlayStation 3 owner :) and I can't wait to try out Home. to sony , thank you for this amazin gift.
I love it and you know what I can't wait to show my wife this she will love it. I think Sony has found a way to invite more women to get a PS3 they love this type of stuff. IMO. What a step in the right direction. I have always tried to get her more involved in my gaming. She likes Pogo and Sims so we never really get to play togther but this could possibly change that. I gotta give Sony props on this.
Am I the only one who even think's the whole "Hall of Fame" and trophy idea sounds pretty cool? Because it does.

Nope it will be great you could play all your greatest hits. Like an amazing wreck in motorstrom that wiped out the reast of the field. Or an awesome combo in a fight game. Or how your clan wiped the floor with another team in a game like Socom.
Sorry, that was just me being stampeded by the army or xbots rushing to try and attack the latest good news for Sony and the PSN. Well they found the news article, one would imagine that relatively soon their "protroll detectors" wil. sniff out this thread. Personally I think it's great, but I'll just copy my reply to the news artivle:
To be honest I REALLY don't see the problem some people have with this. Does it have an online community? Yes. Does it have achievements? Yes Does is have "minigames" (e.g pool and bowling)? Seems so. Does it have file and picture sharing? Yes. Does it have music and video downloads? Yes Does it have downloadable content (e.g trailers and demos)? Yes Does it have the ability to join in online games? Yes (per the demo) Does it have friends lists? Yes (shown when you can allow people into your private area)
These are most of the things Live users were screaming about the PSN not having. Now all of a sudden they're screaming it's pointless and "they don't have the time". Well here's a wake-up call, neither do a lot of people. I work full time, study a uni course in the evenings (CIMA) and run a household too, will I have time to use this fully? God no. But then again last time I checked there weren't any Sony executives in my living room pointing a gun at me forcing me to use it. So WHAT if you think it's a waste of time. A lot of people won't. Personally I'd rather have a service there, for free, that I can use if I want to than not have a service at all (poor Live silver users, you don't pay, you don't play ... try PSN, it's free). Will they have microtransactions (for skins, furniture etc)? Undoubtably. However, looking around, there still isn't a Sony exec in my living room forcing me to buy anything. Hey, perhaps because *gasp*, you can CHOOSE how far into this thing you want to get. You can CHOOSE to get brand clothing and furniture. It seems that 360 owners would prefer nothing being there at all as opposed to having the choice of using it in depth or not (strange for a console marketed on choice). At least I have a CHOICE and either way i can still play my games for free, on Live you have to pay to play AND then you still get microtransactioned. Who was saying "It's the gamkes that count" again? Oh right, thos PAYING for the privelige of something that should be (and is) free pretty much everywhere else but Live. The day a Sony exec shows up in my living room and threatens me unless I get involved in this Home thing and use the microtransactions is the day I start bashing the service. Until that day, hey, I'll be happy that there's something there IF I WANT IT OR NOT as opposed to nothing at all. Who knows, if you got 20 minutes to spare it may be fun linking up to some bloke overseas for a round of pool or bowling.
Oh and to the people who are saying how "sad" it is tha some people are prepared to pay for virtual stuff when they could be buying real stuff instead. Lets see: 1 - On live you have to PAY if you want to play online, hows that for a start? 2 - On live you get the faeces microtransactioned out of you, how is this any different to somebody choosing to spend their money on a skin or a piece of furniture on PSN home if THEY want to? 3 - http://www.marketingvox.com/archives/200... I hope you'll be able to teleport though, I wouldn't want to walk through a whole city to get to someone's trophy room. Anyways, I think it's superior to the Miis, not sure how it will compete against the 360 community service.
i am extremely impressed. Microsoft and Wii have nothing on Sony now. absolutely nothing. PS3: better graphics, better games, BETTER ONLINE - than anything else.
home is exactly what they needed to shut everyone up... and by that i mean certain websites that never give them any respect. and seriously home reminds me of a polished beautiful mac os and xbox live would now be what????? ms dos :-D
When that first description of Home appeared on Kotaku, I was basically expecting the playb3yond website beackground, with some unlockable posters, and a creatable character.
Sony really surprised me with all of the features of Home.
This is exactly the kind of thing that I imagined when I first started hearing about online multiplayer oh so long ago.
It seems like it will make a great addition the the network, and will quite possibly push the boundaries of what user-interaction is, past the standard gameplay and ranks, and into this "lifestyle".
Ummm... lets see..... Avatars = miis and Hall of Fame = achievements AND THAT IS IT!!! The virtual world and everything in it is original. I mean if you don't think all companies copy other companies get a life. Neither of the other 2 consoles had a gigantic virtual world to explore and for free might i add. Not 50 dollars a year.... So yeah PS Home is awesome and it is a revolution in gaming and how people interact with each other on consoles. I mean fanboys don't jump down Nintendo's throat because of the virtual console saying it is the same as downloads on XBL.
