 Man, this game looks sooo awesome, I was wondering about whether this game is a realistic thrilling without monsters or just like in Indigo prophecy, I know that at least in trailers it seemed to have just human beings at all, but we never know what lies ahead... It's going to be the best game o' the year, in my opinion. Is it coming out in november ?fesh_axlroseThere's a few of us, myself included. raven_squad will most likely be posting in here later on. His sig with Heavy Rain was pretty tight. :P
The sad truth of it all is that most gamers seem to only get excited if they can shoot an alien with a gun and play online deathmatches.
Sad, but true.
Anyway, Heavy Rain is very high on my list. Like, top 3 high. I for one appreciate this story driven type of game, and I will support such a great developer delivering such a game, and for not making yet another online deathmatch FPS.
Thanks, too, to Sony for publishing it. A game like this will be a difficult sell with today's gamer, so I appreciate that they're taking the risk.
I believe Heavy Rain will be an amazing game, and I can't wait for it to come out.
**Just wanted to say that I also like shooters (I hate online, though), so I'm not knocking the genre or the fans of it. I just get sick and tired of people only wanting the same thing over and over, sick of developers who only care to create the same thing over and over, and sick of not having more games like Heavy Rain to enjoy.
No. I'm not excited because it's an interactive movie with QTEs, based from the "gameplay" footage I watched. The sad truth of it all is that most gamers seem to only get excited if they can shoot an alien with a gun and play online deathmatches.

That's fine. It's not like you have to be interested in the game, and it's certainly not like every single person falls into what I said. However, a huge amount of gamers do, and it's not only when talking about Heavy Rain.
Fact is, is that most games are shooters nowadays, and most of them are heavily focused on online play. Sadly, this seems to be what most gamers want, and what most gamers get excited about. I was merely pointing that out, and pointing out that I find it upsetting.

It's cool, I know you give lengthy replies to justify your opinions, and I agree with you to a certain extent. But even still, there is plenty of people that enjoy more than one genre. For example, my friend enjoys shooters and considered a casual, but that didn't stop him from buying LittleBigPlanet and having a lot of fun with it.Yes, its a must buy IMO.
It is too bad the majority just want action, guns, blood, and boobs ( not that those are bad things LOL). I personally enjoy the great exclusives SONY has provided and it's too bad I have to import the majority of those. Games like Aquanaut's Holiday, Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! (Thanks to the walkthrough from ThePatrick - I don't know Japanese), Siren (wanted a disc) and looking forward to getting Afrika. Oh well atleast SONY allows me to import games ( probibly the biggest selling point for me besides being able to upgrade the HD).

It's not fair to say that he's more intelligent than anyone else just because he thinks one game is going to be better than another. I for one have been psyched for Killzone's follow up ever since I picked up Killzone, I'm not a hardcore FPS fan, I just liked the game and plan to enjoy Killzone 2. Does that make me dumb? I also am looking forward to Heavy Rain, I just don't know much about it, therefore I'm not all that hyped for it. Opinions are opinions.

Wanted to see someone come and get offended...and it took 10 posts T.T far too long. For anyone who says they do not see the appeal of Heavy Rain...they clearly have not read and enjoyed many books in their lives to see why it will be such a great experience. To be in thrillers such as Velocity by Dean Koontz will be great.
