okay, so first off, this is not a thread for bashing Assassin's Creed 2. In fact, I acknowledge that the game is pretty good. It has good graphics, it has evolved the gameplay from Assassin's Creed 1, and hey, it's actually got a story that makes sense.... sort of. The biggest problem I have with the game is that it just overstays it's welcome, imo. Normally, I like games that are long, because I generally don't want them to end when they do, but I found myself checking the IGN guide to see how much of the game I had left when I had finished memory block 9, and dismayed when I found I had three more to go. Yes, the missions are varied, and yes, there is a story and you should actually care about who you are killing, but I felt the game would have been more powerful capping somewhere between 12-15 hours than 17-20. I dunno, for some reason, Assassin's Creed 2 just didn't suck me in the way it's predecessor did, and while I know that this game is BETTER than the first, I just didn't fall in love with it. Am I the only one?

Not me, I'm having a blast assassinating people. I'm near the end but I don't want it to end, luckily there are plenty of side missions I haven't bothered with yet.

i agree. i think its because it was way to easy and just started getting boring after a while. the enemies attacked once in a blue moon and when they did it was easy to block. it was fun in the beginning but then it just died down

No one's blaming you for not liking it, it's a phenomenon called "different tastes". Those who'd bash you for not liking or hating something most find enjoyable needs to grow up and deal with it (or stop trolling). EDIT: Not liking or hating something with a logical reason behind it that is.

The only thing i liked was the last mission. I felt like that was the only somewhat challenging one. If the rest of the game was something like that then I would have liked it, and even though I think the story is unique I just can not get into it.

I think it is due to the horrible cliff hangers. I mean I like a good cliff hanger, but AC does a HORRIBLE job at ending thier games.

I agree that it was too easy, but it is still really fun and better than the first.

In case you don't know, you have to collect and decrypt all the game's codex pages (30 in all) to access the final mission of the game. I also made it a habit to access any viewpoint that popped up for it made it easier to move around and navigate a city. Feathers I couldn't care less about.

Also try to get Altair's armor, it adds alot more challenge to the game. When I was informed by what's her name that I'll need the armor to fully synchronize with Altair I immediately treated it as a mandatory mission. His sword and leg pads or whatever they're called are also the best in the game (accessed after you get his armor) but they're expensive so fully renovate the mansion's city (I forget its name) to lower prices. By Memory 8 you'll have a ton of money as long as you save up and don't buy armor or weapon upgrades + health much (I waited it out and got Altair's armor which is the ultimate defense equipment).

Done with all the seals, also with armor, but with the weapons not yet.

Correction with the "Don't buy armor" You're probably gonna want to buy everything the blacksmith has to offer. It increases the Villa's value

I beat the game just fine and I didn't buy anything from the blacksmith other than his sword and leg armor after I got his main armor.

Yes, you are the lone person in the ENTIRE world who wasn't enamored with Assassin's Creed II.

Pretty much the same.

It looks great, the setting is great.

The story/character's were all pretty boring, so by the end I was playing to finish, not to enjoy.

I agree that it is better to have shorter games than a game that outlives its welcome. Especially considering how much whining is constantly going on about how any game less than 30 hours is "too short".

I just don't agree that Assasin's Creed 2 is that game. I felt like AC1 was that game...but I'm sucked into AC2.

I could tell it wasn't my cup of tea when it came out but I've had thoughts of checking it out, doesn't look like it necessarily warrants a purchase though.

I'm loving it so far. Much better than the first one IMHO and I loved the first one despite the repetition. Although I actually find I am missing the save the citizen missions. I enjoyed those a lot in the first one. Nothing like a good excuse to get into a fight and kill people. Though I am still having fun stabbing and ripping gaurds off the rooftops and throwing them down to a watery grave (just got to Venice)
