I went to a store where various items are donated for sale (electronics, furniture, etc.). Anyway, I am used to seeing old systems in there for sell like Gamecubes, N64, Genesis, etc. But inside the glass case was.......a PS3!!! Not only that, I saw the price tag with what looked like $39! I figured they probably meant $139 and would be quick to tell me that, but it was correct. I asked if I could hook it up to test it and they let me. It came on fine with no YLOD, but the screen was black. They probably sold it for so low b/c they thought it didn't work. They only had old tvs on display for testing. I thought, you know, maybe the owner had it set to HDMI. I would have bought it regardless. I took it home, and yes, that was the issue. It was set to HDMI. It plays blu rays perfectly. So, I got a 60gb PS3 (backwards compatible) that was well taken care of for $39! You can't even get a PS3 game or controller for that price. I don't know whether to keep it or sell it since I already have the second 80gb version PS3. I am a packrat though and I love the PS3. Having to deal with a possible YLOD or Drive problem on this 60gb are the 2 things that make me want to sell it before it happens.
