American McGee's Alice - PSN purchase

Hi all, So I purchased Alice from the PSN store (I have no interest in the PS3 version of Madness Returns) and it downloads as an add on for Madness Returns... EXCUSE ME... I paid for a full game, I want a full game. I've just spent 15 minutes trying to contact Sony Australia via their website, there is NO contact information at all. I finally found a link that looks like it may work but that part (and only that part) of the site is down for maintenance. Has anyone here actually managed to buy Alice, download it and play it?

From what I understand, you have to play it through the Alice: Madness Returns game disc. It isn't a standalone PSN game, but rather more like DLC for the new game.

And this may sound a little mean, but looking at it in the store (at least the EU PSN store that I am looking at) it says "Add-On Content" and "Alice: Madness Returns" right on it. You probably should have paid a bit more attention or looked into it before buying it. Sony probably won't be able to do much to help you.

Yeah they've updated the store, but not until a day after the release. This is from the PlayStation blog... Nothing there about a game add-on... I finally found contact information for PlayStation Australia and they're aware of the issue from yesterday and are crediting me the purchase price.

I noticed the same thing when i used my code from Alice Madness Returns, I'd recommend you just buy the full game, its awesome ;)

I have it (Madness Returns) on PC, the reason I bought Alice was I didn't want to play Madness Returns on PS3.

Im glad one sucker went before me, I nearly done that myself, it does CLEARLY say "add on", but most would assume its a full game regardless. Im just gonna but the game new with the "dlc" game, by then I nhope I beaten darksiders before hand (love these kinda games :) )

Completely incorrect, yesterday when I purchased this game it was listed as a full game, under PS3 Games on the PSN Store. It has now been moved, and the information updated. There are plenty of people who purchased this yesterday, and have been pretty much done over by Sony's BS.

Game was listed as a full stand alone game for a day, Sony sell it, people get screwed over, they then move the game and change the description.

yea its just a DLC for madness returns, i never play the original, even tho i have it as after playing madness returns theres just no comparison, i like the original an all but its only good for a nostalgia factor once u play madness returns..

Hey, I rented Alice MR it hasnt came yet but is the first game worth buying off the PSN store? How does it hold up?..do I NEED to play the first game to enjoy the 2nd and how long is it? I wanted to buy the game new and support the devs as it looks fresh and unqiue..but times are hard and I'm saving up for driving lesson's and a car...But buying the DLC game will atleast give some money to the devs. Thanks.

Just looked myself. It's definitely an addon. I want the game, but I'm waiting for a price drop. Also, I'm planning to get a few other games this year.

It holds up alright, its more like playing a PS2 game of course though, on a graphical level. I'd say just save up for the full game instead, its awesome, and then you get Alice for free..

I haven't checked it out on PSN, but on XBL it clearly states that Madness Returns is required to play AMA. It's also listed under Add-ons.
