Well for a while now (3 months) i've owned this ps3 and i've had problems with it ever since, it wasnt really a big deal but now these problems are starting to get on my nerves.

1.Whenever I turn on the system, turn off the system, enter or exit a game, I lose internet for a second, not a big deal if your doing nothing important but its quite a hassle when your playing a online game or talking on skype cause you get disconnected from these things along with any messengers you may have (yahoo, msn etc).

2.Whenever I try to download an update to a game it downloads for a few seconds then it stops and the timer keeps raising until it says error and I gotta keep going and going at it till it finally succeeds >_>

Any ideas?

Sounds like more of an issue with your Internet connection. Maybe you need to forward a port or something.

That'd be my guess, it wouldn't be an issue with the PS3 itself.

I'm not either, to be honest. Just go to google and type in "opening ports for PS3" or something of the like, as there has been many guides written on the subject.

It's probably just an internet connection issue. Mine disconnects sometimes and I just have to unplug my router for a few seconds, then it's fine. Also my router is almost 4 years old now and I've been using it the whole time so I just think it's time for a new one.

Another thing would be to say whether or not you are connected wireless or wired. If wireless then there are NUMEROUS variables to cause the problems. Wired...not so many.

I have never experienced this problem with my PS3 and same goes for all the people I know that own the system. I would definitely agree that this seems to be a problem with your internet connection and not the console itself.
