Ok, this topic keeps getting locked on the official PS forum for some reason (hahaha, reminds me of something else  ) So hopefully you guys are more mature and can help me.

I have the problem of white powder that shows up under the analog sticks that stays on there, I guess after playing awhile. It just stays there and it gets annoying since it makes the controller look dirty. What I wanted to know if there is a way to prevent it from happening and cleaning solutions. I've had this problem since my N64 days and I just want to know what causes it to show.

Thanks for your help.

same thing happens on ps2 controllers, the reason it didnt do it on n64 is because the anolog stick on the n64 was plastic.

i think since the sixaxis analogs are a rubbery substance that it might be wear on the analogs

I've been having the same problem since the N64 also andI have yet to find a way to prevent this. As the above poster mentioned, just a dry q-tip will clean it up nicely but I have yet to figure out how to stop it altogether.

:D man you made my day thx  , but answer to you're problem is simple is from rotation of the analog stick's, the analog stick's rub against the plastic and result is white powder. hope this helps.

eventually it does become a problem... my ps2 controller got so worn down it would somtimes get wedged in the side wall of the analog... they should use better material...
