So i was just curious, anyone that plays it or has played Monster Hunter on the PSP how do you play? Not in terms of weapons, but in finger placement. I talked to a dude who used his pointer finger to control the camera, but that seems awkward to use your finger on the d-pad like that. I prefer to use my thumb and just switch quickly between analog stick and d-pad. I just make sure the camera is placed in such a way that i don't need to adjust too much. So my question is, how do you control the camera on MH, and games like it? Also do you think the camera control system works well, why or why not? Please don't just say because it sucks, that's not an argument, that's trolling. I like the camera scheme of MH and God Eater. The new camera in Unite unlike the Freedom 1 moves smoothly so I never have any issues with keeping track of my opponent. What I don't like is the vertical control that makes it so hard to look below or above yourself. Which I suppose adds a little difficulty and realism in that you can't see anything your character can't see, to an extent.

my friend uses the index finger technique, i tried it, but it felt awkward. I like to just move my thumb up to adjust the camera.

Left thumb on d-pad/analog. left index finger on L button. Right index finger on right button. Right thumb for Cross, circle, triangle, square. The "claw" is unnecessary because you can use the L button to change the camera angle as you run around in a circle. When you need to, run behind a monster where it is safe for you to change camera angles with the d-pad, while letting go of the analog stick and having your character stand still for a second.

Fingerhooking. Index finger on the D-pad to adjust camera angle.
