I'll just quote what I said about this on another thread:
That's a huge drawback IMO. Most don't have internet speeds that can download said games in less than a few days. And putting them on "Background" download mode would risk the install being corrupted therefore the time spent downloading wasted. It happened to me twice. I'd rather get them on disc.Aero5555

Okay people, I think we need to put this a bit into perspective:
WE DONT PAY FOR THE PLAYSTATION NETWORK.
I can understand people freaking out if the network was down since we all paid $59.99 for it (wait, no we didnt) and on top of it we had these "welcome back" issues. We dont pay for online gaming, and even though we were offline from our FREE service, people are still complaining that we are getting FREE games because our FREE service was offline?
I think some people will just take any opportunity to complain about something.
If you dont like it, buy an xbox and pay your 60 bucks to go online.
Yeah, because Sony forced you to chose some crappy internet provider with download limits. You would rather have nothing so that you don't have to download anything, right? Or Sony employees bringing retail games to your house along with a PS4 and a chest filled with gold coins? Because of the thousands of dollars you paid for using PSN and the billions of dollars that were stolen with your credit cards info.just another detail that adds to the crappiness of sony's "welcome back" package.

Just so that you know, this thread isn't a complaint, just a heads up.WeenskiI figured, which I appreciate the heads up as I am sure that many people have bandwidth caps. My message was tailored to da_nibbler, who is one of many people who seem the need to complain about a free service, getting free games...

no, but we do pay for the console, and games, and some people pay for playstation plus....sooooo, im pretty sure we all have a right to complain. it is a service that is offered when you purchase the console. therefore it is part of the package.[QUOTE="1337h4xx0rz"]

IF we paid for the service, then absolutely, I would expect a better lineup of games for free, but since we never paid for the service, we cant complain about what is given in return.
Yes, we pay for the console, and games, so do xbox users, AND they pay 60 bucks to play online, which we do not. So I dont really see your point there...
And as for playstation plus users, they are getting an extra 2 months free. Where can you complain there?
Sadly if giving a 100$ cash in box most people would say "why didnt they put a 5 20ies instead of a 100$ bill."
Yeah, that's definitely a problem. Not like Sony can do anything about it, though. Really wish those darn download caps would just die.
Does anyone know if COMCAST has a DL limit? I don't believe they do, but in any case ...
... do you really have to actually DOWNLOAD both of the games within 30 days? I mean, if they will be available for download from your PSN account indefinitely (i.e., to future consoles), then why do you even need to make an INITIAL download? Can't you just "claim" them from the PS Store and then decide to download them whenever, like when you actually plan on playing them?
In addition, does anyone know how large the full-retail games of LittleBigPlanet and inFAMOUS are? I'm more concerned about how LONG it would take to download one of them. Assuming each is around 10 GB, even if Sony's servers uploaded to you at 1 MB/s (an upwards estimate), that would still take a good three hours.
Also, as this offer is pretty much going to KILL the retail sales of inFAMOUS and LBP, I would expect steep price drops on both games from all retailers. I mean, how many people are going to ever buy either of two games again on blu-ray disc after this? By that logic, if the value of the game discs dropped to $5, I might consider buying both ... seems a small price to pay to be able to keep both in physical form, and not have to deal with the digital downloads. And that way, you'd still be taking advantage of this offer, as without it the games would not drop in value in the first place.

I've heard from many people that they do. What the limit is, however, I don't know.
I believe Comcast's DL limit is 250 GB a month, enough for around 10+ ps3 games:Does anyone know if COMCAST has a DL limit? I don't believe they do, but in any case ...

You have every right to be upset but there are a lot of people complaining about the free games. Many of them because they already own Infamous and LBP. If this happens again would it be better if Sony thought 'they weren't happy when we gave them free games. Lets not do that again?' I think not. :)
Please explain, how does putting on "backround download" risk getting a corrupted file? I do that literally ever single time it's possible to use background download, and it's never had an issue once. I can't imagine why it would - unless there is a power surge or something crazy happens to your PS3, but that is a totally separate issue that could effect you even if you download in the "foreground". Despite of course using surge protectors, I usually still turn my PS3 off when there's is a severe enough thunderstorm.
DL caps do suck, but you have to be with a pretty crap ISP to cause a problem if you use a mere 12-15GB. Especially if they go after you just for one month of using it for PSN downloads. That's the ISP's problem, not PSN. Usually the "soft limit" is more like 30GB, and they only go after people that chronically go way over those limits month after month.
