Well, the "current" halo games aren't as deserving of the hype I'd say, but the first one did break some ground.

Exactly, so why get so worked up when someone makes a valid comparison? And I would honestly say that Halo and Rfom are almost identical in practically every sense. Except for vehicles, which adds depth and fun to the halo experience. I am a ridiculously devout PS3 fan, so rest assured Im not standing up for xbox or downing PS. But taking offense to someone stating the blatant corelation is pretty irrational.

But I don't see ANY ground breaking stuff in Halo, and yeah I've tried it, so I don't talk with my mouth full of BS. I know what I'm talking about, the biggest accomplishment Halo got was to make everyboyd thi it was groundbreaking, and I'm sorry if you or if everybody disagrees on this.

RFoM on the other hand is not overrated as Halo and didn't make any real accomplishments either but the game is better IMO: better story, better characters even better enemies. The weapons are not the wow factor but I prefer them over to anything from Halo (well, execpt those nades that stick to you)
