similiar to the old final fantasy (not final fantasy tactics style).

I thought FFIX played almost exactly like the old school SNES FFs. If you were a fan of those I'd check it out.

here is list of things i really advise, with description: 1. Final Fantasy X (PS2), battle system is simple, need some work on the ability Grid which is more fun .. not to mention the fabulous storyline ! 2. Final Fantasy XII (PS2), battle system can be automated, battles in real-time, the game is truly long!.. storyline is great, and contains alot of myths & legends to fulfill. 3. Phantasy Star Universe (PS2), battle system and graphics are not much, but the story is the best thing about this series. 4. Star Ocean (PS2), battle system can get complex, but with great & complex long storyline, you will never be bored .. you probably need a guidebook on that. 5. Final Fantasy XIII (PS3), battle system is time-based, great graphics with full HDMI, long storyline .. but very hard to advance! .. good luck,

none of these are psn titles... and how is FF 13 hard to advance when you can beat the majority of the game by just pressing x, not to fimilar with rpgs on psn other than FF which you said you wernt looking for so good luck

are any of these games on psn, updated graphics? or do they still look like ps2 games? i think the tc was looking for a game made specifically for psn, with newer graphics.

Trine was a favorite ... I don't know if it's the RPG you're looking for though

besides the already named, PS1 classic Suikoden is pretty cool. There are also some great PSP RPGs.

That's what I was thinking. It's not turn based, but it's a great game and it's pretty funny too :)

There is literally none for this generation worth talking about on the ps3.

If you have a 360, buy Lost Odyssey. Best rpg I have played in a coons age.

Rainbow Moon maybe?

Though it is a bit like tactics and very grindy, but definitley has old school flair. But story and characters are not very deep either.

Good luck if you get hooked though because the sequels are very hard to find these days.
