Any new franchise to bring some hope to PS3???

I mean this is the last MGS game and FF is pretty old at this point.

So is there any new Franchise in the making that can make PS3 owners think there is a light at the end of this PS3 tunnel?

Anything out there we should be getting hyped about? Because about now the 360 is looking dam good. And it's hard to stay on Sony's side at this point.

I mean heck we all left Sega for Sony are we going to end up leaving Sony for MS if Sony does not pull a new great franchise out of there AXX

come on it s not that bad, i have all 3 consoles and my ps3 is still my favorite.

who cares about franchises realy? what matter is how good a single game is. Rockstar is working on a new franchise for the ps3 after they are done with GTA4. Grand tourismo looks awsome, rachet and clank, RFOM is going to be a franchise, HS if it sells well through out the year, motorstorm 2 is in the work, Killzone2, UT3, Tekken 6.

see that s a few we know about, and i am sure there will be a lot more during the ps3 life span.

I m tired of people like u that says there s no game for the ps3. I ll be buying 3-4 games for my ps3 this holidays, and 1 for my 360, and only one for my wii.

There are good games out and that are coming out for the system, i really dont understand u people. If u are not happy with your ps3 just buy another console and stop complaining.

I am really looking forward to Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Infamous (next year). I think the PS3 is doing just fine right now. It has more good games after 10 months than the Xbox 360 had last year.

PlayStation always comes out with all sorts of "different" games like: Ico, Shadow of the Collosus, Okami, Loco Roco, and Katamari Damacy. That's why I like it more. It has the most diverse lineup of games.

ps3 doesn't even has 1 year of life...

what that other console that everyone talks about had in the first year? any game that had the quality of resistance? or HS?ratchet and clanck? any game with the ambition and beauty of lair in the first year?

I think ps3 owners should be happy and confident about ps3 future, really.

Sell your f-ing PS3 if you feel you're in a tunnel. The PS3 will with 100% certainty have at least as much good games as the 360 when it's been around for as long as it has, and probably even more.

i think saying ff is old is a wrong argument, cause every FF is different from each other. And you should be excited with the 13th because it's a revolutionary game.

PS3 is just having a slow start that's all. 360 may have more better games right now which I'm enjoying, but the PS3 also have a lot of exclusive that I'm excited about. Parade of games will start this Holiday season. This is why I need to have all 3 console this gen because each console will offer different things. chatri10

First off, Every single new IP releasing could be a new hit franchise.. no one knows what will be huge next.

FF is pretty old? Just because it's XIII doesn't mean it;s getting old. You do relaize none of them are sequels and the last 3 have been much much different from eachother. Try not to be so shallow.

If you find it hard to "stay on sony's side" , it may be because you havent researched whats coming out. There are like 10+ games coming out this year that look great, Tons of mutiplats too.

The problem is the general public and media are all aiming towards the 360, Everyone is pointing out the Pros of the 360 and the flaws of the PS3. When the other way around would make a lot more sense. there is much more Pros for the PS3's future

i have been playing games for many a year and i dont think i ever wanted so many games in a space of a year lol and thats not including ones that are going to suprise you. does anyone remember the ps2 launch

the only game i would of considered then would of been doa2 it took a year and two months for mgs2 and gt3 to come out and then it sold dramiticly i can see the ps3 doing the same and the ps3 hada better line up compared to the ps2. i have mine now five games already and this year goign to buy r&c, warhawk, ut3 if it not delayed and haze might right uncharted

It seems like they can't see anything besides what's right in front of them.

360 is not looking good at all if you just look at 08 announced games. What's 360 has in future after Mass Effect? Most of the games that is announced is also announced for PS3 and start to look very limited now, while PS3 is just gaining more exclusive titles announced on their platforms as they go.

Also while PS3 seems to satisfy Western gamers and Eastern gamers, 360 seems to only satisfy only Western gamers. Huge turn off for me because i tend to lean towards being more of Eastern gamer (JRPGs, stylish action games like DMC, Virtua Fighter over Mortal Kombat).

Each generation creates new franchise to look foward to. PS1 created Valkyrie Profile, Grandia, Xenogears, Suikoden etc etc etc. PS2 created God of War, Shadow Hearts, Xenosaga, etc etc etc.

Having those Final Fantasy games and MGS game means those future new IP has high chance of being on same system as those big game titles.

What about Assassin's Creed and Conan? I know they're not exclusives, but they look great. Folklore looks to be a good RPG, Haze looks pretty amazing, The Outsider sounds interesting, Alone in the Dark should be good (I hope), and Resident Evil 5 should be great like RE4. Some of these are (at the moment) multi-platform games, but could go the way of Haze, or could be timed exclusives. Who knows? I think that either way the games are great and will only add to the PS3 library in a good way.

I don't understand how Heavenly Sword received a score of 8.0 on this site (only flaw they said the game had was the length) yet Halo 3 got a 9.5 (which also is short). How can a game that is just like its predecessors get such a high score while a game that is only similar to God of War (in the controls, but what FPS game isn't like any other FPS). Heavenly sword is about 7.5 hours long, Halo 3 is about 10 hours long. Is 2.5 hours more worth 1.5 points more on a score? Not in my opinion. It seems that anything that gets released on XBOX360 gets a higher score because it's an American system and the reviewers are in America. Just my two cents.

The sad thing is that games that aren't meant to be mutiplayer are being judged for not having it. I don't think length should be a factor in rating. They dont rate games lower for being 20+ hours which is not average either. People can complain about value all you want but i thought it was about quality not quantity

I borrowed Heavenly Sword from Gamestop (I work there part-time) and have been playing it. I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but I think it's better than God of War. It should become a franchise like God of War has become. Great game. And I did try out Lair as well. It's not a bad game at all, just takes some time to get used to the controls. I think people wanted the dragon to be able to move like a jet, but it moves more like a tank.

This thread is laughable! I didn't know that the PS3 was failing to a point where it needed a new franchise to save it from its demise or doom. Just because there are games out for the system that you may have very little interest in or haven't been labeled AAA material doesn't mean that the system is hopeless. Get that through your skulls people!mrvic87

I think the problem is that Sony fanboys are used to having the Sony machine dominate the market and get most of the exclusives. I dont think the PS3 is doing poorly considering it hasnt been out a year yet and its still pricey. From now till the foreseeable future I see many must have games coming out.

The plus with a lot of the PS3 stuff, and not by design, is that there is a lot of stuff coming out spread throughout the year to look forward to. Halo 3 is the pinnacle of the 360's life now where as the PS3 has Home, Haze, Killzone 2, little bitg planet etc all to com. So the slow burn aspect whilst frustrating is better overall. Can you imagine if Sony had released a load of stuff like Home etc at the launch? people would then complain that they had shot their bolt! My only complaint is that Sony have been quite annoying with all the "Delayed" aspects of there products. There's been just to many and it can show a real lack of professionalism on their part. Still its a great console and miles better as a piece of kit than the shocking 360, with all the terrible operating problems.

If they really want a good new 1 they could just Could do what codemasters hire Clive Barker to help start a new one
