The ps3 hasnt had any problems to fix.  There has been the rare lemon here and there but there is apparently nothing wrong with the design.

Where do people get their information?  I've never heard of a single PS3 system overheating.  Heck, I don't know of any that haven't ran anything but flawless.  The only problems that I'm aware of are the occassional freeze up (it's frozen about 4 times since Christmas) and a few skips while watching a couple of movies.

I guess it all depends on how you define problem. The hardware generally runs the way it was designed. Now if they had a way to fix the resolution scaling issues it would be much better, particularly for people with older HDTV's.

The PS3 doesn't overheat... It's 600 dollars, if you pay that much for a gaming system then you know that it's probably very good quality.

There never were any over heating problems nor any other problems for that matter. Well, there was that one problem with PS/PS2 games that didn't have Progressive Scan not displaying correctly. However, that's been fixed.

I have only experienced a major-ish problem once. Right after the release of VF5, my game got stuck in the PS3 for over 10 mins. When I would try to eject it would just make clicky noises. Of course I panicked, but after leaving it be for a few minutes it popped out on the next try. Weird stuff, but it never happened since. Figured maybe I got a mishaped disc or something.

Overheating? NEVER. Thats just some BS rumor the Box fans have tried to ignite. This is one of the most well designed pieces of technology I have ever owned.

Im sprry but except for rare exceptions here and there, I havent heard of any PS3's overheating or breaking up unlike the 360.  Hardware wise so far its been almost flawless with some minor freezes and skipping in Blu-ray movies.  If you mean the scaling issues, no that hasnt been resolved yet

You must be mistaken. Reliability is not a problem with our system.

The grainy look  in PS3 when you played PS2 games was also fixed. So, yeah, its been fixed.

What kind of problems are you referring to? I have had a PS3 for about 5 months now and have yet to run into any problems with it. It doesn't overheat, it doesn't freeze, it plays all of my PS2 and PS1 games perfectly...right now the only problem the PS3 has is a lack of software. After seeing what's in store for the rest of the year though, I'm not worried at all. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Heavenly Sword look like two awesome AAA games. Ninja Gaiden Sigma looks significantly better than its Xbox counterpart and will be out in about a month. GTA: IV will be out in October and Lair looks promising. I don't expect Metal Gear Solid 4 or Final Fantasy XIII to be ready for Christmas, but who knows? That's the real system seller there...

I have not run into any problems since I bought it in January.  It dissapates heat quite well as the fans are powerful but not overwhelmingly loud.

The only problem with overheating that the PS3 has had is in warm country's, and the only thing that happens is it freezes or the machine tells you to turn it off. Now however, if you are troubled with this you can buy a PS3 cooler that you snap on the back. It makes a litle bit more noise, but it probably is quiet compared to the x360....hehe. The fans on the cooler adjust's itself so it does'nt go on max when you watch movies and other small stuff.

Uh? what the hell are you talkin... oh I get it. One of those misleading negative topics for the PS3 main topic page, seeing as a lot of people don't actually read things through on these kind of sites; they just glance at topics, see negative things like "problems with PS3 fixed???" and just assume the PS3 has problems.

If you can flood a lot of negative slanted topics on the main page then hey, the general concensus to anyone not familar with the product is that they should stay away from it cause it has issues. Sneaky yes, but that's how bad the gaimg community has gotten I'm afraid - sad really :(

I haven't really heard of any major problems aside from the occasional freeze and rare overheating. My launch system hasn't given me any problems, but apparently if the system does overheat during gameplay it will give you a warning and tell you to shut it off. I left my system on for about a week straight to see if there were any problems while it was still under warranty and early enough so I wouldn't miss any major games, but it handled the stress perfectly. For $600 it better not overheat.

What's more sad is the fact that your first inclination was to assume he was trying to bash the PS3.

Maybe he's genuinely interested in picking up a PS3 and wants to know if there are any serious problems he should be concerned with. Who cares what topics the board is flooded with. The best thing we can do is to be as objective and helpful as possible so this doesn't turn into a system wars board.

I'd say the OP phrased his original post poorly then. He didn't ask IF there were problems. He asked if the problems (like overheating) were fixed.

Hence, the rash of "What are you smoking? We don't have problems. The other console does"-type posts that followed.

It's apparent that what's really sad is your lack of English comprehension. If the TC actually wanted to get info, he/she would have said so. lol. yeah they've been fixed...cause it doesn't overheat. problems with the PS3 include = $600 bucks missing from your wallet after picking one up. not a lot of games if you got yours when it first came out. and yeah...that's about it.

i think you're referring to the Xbox360. that's the system that overheats, sounds like a jet engine warming up and occassionally breaks down and just keeps blinking this red light. lol.

the problem with no software and $600 pricetag are not fixed.  There was no overheating problem, unlike the X360 (no matter what fanboys would like to think).

I will say this, the PS3 after being on for a couple hours gets hot as ****.  I touched the outer covering and it could burn my hand, honestly.  Not sure if the X360 I used to play ever got that hot however that X360 had a nuclear melt down so obviously internally there was a problem.  PS3 may burn hot on the outside but obvoiusly it's good on the inside.
