im currently lookin into the 37AV502U for my next tv. i will mainly be using it for my ps3 and to watch some blue rays, i was just wondering if anyone else here is currently using this set. any feedback(pros/cons, picture settings ie:contrast/backlight etc.) would be greatly appreaciated. also what is the "gamemode" for?

thanks

I use a Toshiba HDTVfor my PS3 as well, though not the model you posted. I have had no problems at all with ym set up. As far as the gaming mode, I have no clue, mine does not have that option.

I do I use My 42RV530OU for gaming and It is a Great! TV. The gaming mode turns off a few of the Post-processing features like DNR and some others to increase the controllers response time. I don't play without it on.

thanks for the feedback! i am well aware that toshiba makes great products but i was lookin more into this specific model cause i currently own a 2003 model regza and its done its job well but is about time to retire it. more specific feedback about this model is what im basicly looking for (picture settings to get the most out of the set and such.)

thanks again!

Well what I can tell you is that most new REGZA models have the game mode and if the one your looking at has the game mode it serves the same purpose as mine. I allows for a more acurate response time.

i have a 26 inch regza and i find that the game mode is a little too much contrast. i just play my ps3 on sports mode with lowered contrast and brightness. also i turn off the dynalight and put dynamic contrast to middle. after that bluray and ps3 games look amazing. i think its a great tv for the money.

you my friend are truly confused the gaming mode has nothing to do with picture quality. It's only proccessing time. And your settings are all off. I would know because I calibrate TV's and I use hardware and software that cost as much as a few PS3s. a lot of those fancy things only screw up what the Developer or Director intended for you to see. My advise is first... turn of Dynalight, Dynamic Contrast and all the other things like DNR MPEG NR and turn down your Sharpness and buy a DVE Blu Ray and you will be amazed at what you see.

I think any LCd will work as long as its 720p or 1080p, but my logic says Sony playstation deserves a sony LCD Its kinda pricey though, but it was worth it for me

There's an audio/video forum, I suggest you post your audio/video harware concerns there, otherwise you'll get modded. Just a friendly advice.
