any tips on helping my ps3 last longer?

can I use just any lens cleaner? what about the fans? is there anything I should be doing periodically that will keep it alive?

Vacuum the vents out every other week or so and give it room to breathe - about 1 foot around.

i think standing it up vlows the hot air out better...my opinion of course.

I agree, I think standing it up lets it vent better. I also keep mine covered when im not using it, keeps it from getting dusty. Give it plenty of room to breathe, dont stick it on some tiny shelf. And I don't think you should use any lense cleaners.

same as a pc or 360 keep it in a cool enviorment , keep ur vents clean and let have good brething space *at least 8 inches by all vents*

Actually, Sony said that keeping it horizontal helps it keep cooler, but I'm convinced that it's the other way around.

enough space and don't mod, unless it's useful. i'm on my 2nd ps3...use the high speed fan to remove additional dust from all the ventilated areas(TO USE THIS - SHUTDOWN MAIN POWER, THEN PRESS THE BACK SWITCH AND EJECT BUTTON AT THE SAMETIME)

Place it vertically, and keep it clean. That should help it last a really long time.
