As I type here, I type from a laptop. . .wirelessly. . .with my PS3 sitting a few feet from me, and the router on another floor. I also have used other wireless devices at this range and they work fine.

However, if I try to download a demo on PSN, most of the time I get an error after it downloads about 5-7% of the demo, more or less. This is so annoying, and I really don't want to run an ethernet cable, as I'll probably be moving for a new job in soon, hopefully.

depending on the router you have you may be able to boost the power.

What kind of router do you have? Try to go to 192.168.0.1 in youre browser. That is youre standard router IP (dont worry no one can acces it)

Log into it qith the Unser name Admin (unless you chaned it) once youre into it look for wireless settings and maby you will be able to boost the range or power

Linksys Wireless-N, but it did this with another one (wireless-G). Maybe I'll try some home-made antennas.

Oh, and the address you mentioned is actually 192.168.1.1 ;) and often the modem address is 192.168.100.1

:)

I may just be sounding like a Mac fanboy here, but Airport Express. It works on a PC and it is amazing. I'm sitting about five meters away from it and I have great speed. I don't even get lag on my PS3 when playing online.
