WARNING!! this thread does apply to those that buy 2 or so games a month, or anybody with a crazy long amount of games.

Im pretty picky with which games i buy, and replay value is usually the most important factor. That being said, I havent even touched LBP in like 10 days. I would just rather play other games when it comes down to it. I beat the story mode (in about 5 hours),,, and goin back to get 100% feels like a chore. The user created stuff has been pretty subpar (no offence to any creators, you do a way better job than i ever could). I'm beginning to think this game was a tad too overrated/overhyped

Well getting the 100% is only cool if you you plan on actually getting the items you get ... and that means being creative and building your own levels.

If you don't well ... too bad for you, half the fun for me is about creating levels.

Also if you rushed through the lvls i'm guessing you missed all the multiplayers puzzles which are really good and neat ...

But to be honest it's that with any game, there might be as much replay as you'd like but if you don't replay it, the value goes down to zero.

Think about playing FPS Games if you don't have online for multiplayer ... o_O how the replay value now...

It has to be said up front that I have felt that. However, the problem is not our own. I really want to develop a few level. I have the ideas. I have seen some that are just out and out amazing. Thats just the problem though. People who dont want to develop levels are just sitting there playing the same ones over and over. The player community is MUCH larger than the creator community at this point. That is the biggest issue with LBP at the moment. However, given time, more levels that are higher quality should release and more people should start playing with the level creator. It may not be tomorrow, but give it time... give it time.

I don't believe it was over-hyped, nor do I think it was not worth the money. I haven't played it in over a week myself due to the mass amount of quality games that were just released, but it's still a great game and one that should not be overlooked IMO.

I'm very picky with my games as well, not just because I'm not wealthy but because time is precious too. I like to limit my time to playing the best games; the ones that have a lot of imagination, effort and care poured into them. I just like the idea of going from one amazing game to another without any mediocre inbetween. I can see how you'd be disappointed if you lost interest in LBP, although I think LBP is a game for people who've been longing to create and share things rather than just for playing. If the game had no level creation and community, I would have no interest in it as the gameplay doesn't appeal to me enough on its own. I would probably rather play Super Mario World on my SNES if I was playing a platformer. As it stands, I'm looking into getting the game much later on, because Killzone 2 will be out before I can afford another game, but I would like to try contributing some good levels to the community.

Also i'd like to point out that LBP is more likely aimed at casual and completist players than hardcore players.

I mean you stormed the game in 5 hours... o_O

I did it in 2 weeks (including acing all levels and all items) and i'm now creating some levels which is not always easy thinking about every problem players might have while playing it. I retouch my lvls a bit every night and i do 1 or 2 custom lvls including hearthing lvls and creators as well as giving my comments so they can improve they're lvls. After i pick Valkyria Chronicles and screw

Have fun. It's all about that. Maybe you should stop playing it and just pop the disk in when you have a spare hour or some friend/family home.

I'm having some quality time playing LBP with my girlfriend her sister and brother in law.

Oh dude, you have to search there's tons of levels out there but yeah my one disappointment was they removed some of the best levels from the beta God of War, SotC some other amazing ones you missed I think it was because of copyright. That's really unfortunate though. They should redo how the community levels can be found cuz the beta was setup better online.

}You knew what you were getting right from the start. You knew this game was mainly focused on the creator and sharing your creations with other people. And the creator is really complete if you ask me, you can create A LOT of stuff if you had the interest.

But if you fell for the hype YOUR FAULT.

I would say that for people who buy 2 or more games per month are not the kind of person who is looking for replay value. Think about it? If you're playing two different games per month and then moving on to two new games the next month. You really don't have that much time to replay a lot of your old games again. To say that is pure BS or you have no job or life. It's the person that buys 1 game every 3 months that's looking for re-play value and for those people LBP is a must! (not unless you're a pure FPS or Sport gamer) As a platformer and a social gaming experience, it's top notch. To add to that a mini development kit for those who are into gaming so much that they want to make their own game and put it out on the network as a matter of pride, or give creative people an outlet to express themselves, this game is well worth $60 + tax. As for the Hype, there hasn't been enough. It should be one of those games that non-gamers should know about. As it stands though, more people know about Gears 2 than LBP and although Gears 2 is a great gameit is far, far, far from being as innovative as LBP. It should be a contender for GOTY although I think MGS4 should get it on a personal note.

LBP's main bulk is int he creation, and playing of user created levels. The story is but one part of the game.
