I'll put it this way, COD has great SP and a MP thats very addicting. There is a reason the MP changed the game in this industry and now many devs copy the same thing on their own games, but don't really do well than how it is in COD.
The hate comes from people who are just tired of the same old formula, somehow I can almost guarantee that if the next COD was completly different, with new gameplay, graphics, sound, quality, etc. they will still complain and say, doesn't feel like the past COD games.... You can't satisfy everyone.
The only thing I can say that really sucks about COD is the horrible lag, MGS Peace walker is more stable than MW3, how I tested this? I was downloading a lot of stuff while playing Peace Walker online and it playing smooth with very minimal lag. I do that with MW3 and 1 bar shows up on my game like I'm hoggin the internet connection, I hope Treyarch fixes the lag issue this time.

About the same old formula: My wife only got me into CoD with Blops so they got to stfu and just skip a release or two if it's getting tiring for them.I like Assassin's Creed but I don't buy every single release for it...I don't have time. But I'm not going to say it's crap.
MW3 is one of the only games I still play on the ps3, the only thing that stopped me from getting it for the pc was split screen.
I thought all the hate came from the fact that Activision is run by a bunch of total d-bags.
All I know is that I rented two big shooters at the end of last year: Battlefield 3 had a crappy campaign and everything else locked behind an online pass and MW3 had the (much cooler) campaign and all the multiplayer content avalable on my rental. Is it any wonder why I bought MW3.
Activision may be run by a bunch of d-bags but it seems EA is run by a bunch of d-bag morons.
