It's the last remnant. Far from Final Fantasy.

They rae related but at the same time they arent. You should check the unions here to learn more since what SE is doing is not easy to explain. Basically they will have things in common but they will not be related as FF X and X-2

From what ive seen, I think FF13 is a new final fantasy. FFX and FFX-2 had the same characters just FFX-2 was all about the girls in FFX that were the main characters. I loved that series, but I think FF13 is a whole new FF Story. Man my dream Final Fantasy game would be to see a final fantasy game where cloud meets squall and they team up to go against Sephiroth and Cypher and a more new enemies. That would be one kick a$$ game, I can only dream on.

it looks pretty boring so far. and the production values are obviously way below your average FFs.

We'll have to wait and see, though Square Enix doesn't exactly have the best of luck with new IPs at the moment.

Your dream may come true later this year under the name of Dissidia: Final Fantasy. A super Smash like game featuring characters from the games. I have a link to some pics in my profile featuring Zidane and Cecil.

that does sound cool..but a real FF game that teamed up past heroes into one huge story line.  Terra, Squall, Cloud, Firion, Cecil, Bartz and other favorites in more of an All-Star style story line.    although that may be just too much for anyone's brain to handle :)
