Hey I just begang playing on my PS3 after not playing it for like 7 months. its a year old. I started MGS4 up and it loaded fine the first time. Then I had to shut down the PS3 and came back and put in the MGS4 disc in again and it refused to read it. I Loaded it up several times and one of those times it did so again. I then insected the disc like 15 times and it loaded without any problems. Just wondering if this sometime happens and if anything is wrong with my PS3 or what the explanation could be?

If it is like ths with all your Blu-rays (movies & games) then your BRay lens might be damaged. But if it is only with MGS then the disc is not clean or has scratches on it.

If it continues to happen with a variety of Blu-ray discs I would recomend contacting Playstaiton Support.

You may have a problem with your Playstaiton.

When this happened to me it ended up with me sending it back to sony. If it keeps happening, it's probably just going to get worse as time goes on.

You should also make sure to check if it reads CDs and DVDs as well. If not, then your Disc Drive may be malfunctioning. You should contact Playstation Support if it is malfunctioning.

I have no idea, if it still under warranty I would contact sony support asap, otherwise just get as much out of it as you can. It may have just been an error with the acutal disc. Do you have any other games to test this on? If not go and get Killzone 2...you will love it and that should give your system enough time to see if there error occurs on the different disc. Either that or go rent it.

This happened (or something similar) to me a week or two ago. I put RB2 in and it just wouldn't play. I restarted, still nothing. I cleaned off the disc and tried again and it has worked ever since. I haven't had any problems (touch wood) since with any of my games, brds or dvds.
