I love when people complain about repetetiveness in a game that's put into a genre because of the "repetetiveness."
You can't play an FPS expecting to do cartwheels just to change things up.
CoD4 is plenty repetetive, but it works.
My only gripe with R1 is that, as someone else on here said before, it pretty much explains to you the whole story in the first 20-30 minutes, which doesn't really give you a reason to play.
Â
Haven't played a whole lot of the new one but played a couple of hours on R1 and really couldn't find myself to finish it. Very boring story, boring characters, gameplay got too repititve. Is the new one like a completely different game because I'm still trynig to push myself to finish the first game.jharv
I agree, just play a bit more longer, it gets better as you start to use more vehicles and weaponary and better fight sequences.
Because am almost finishing it now.
The story was a good idea, but i dont like the narrator part. But i will try out resistance 2 since it got good reviews.

No, you don't know me at all. If you knew me when I posted on the wii boards your opinion would be different. Fact is, I don't really like posting on the PS3 boards as much as I used to on the Wii boards. So my answers do not elaborate on my ideas or statements unless someone directly responds like you just did. So yeah, I have lots of posts but not all are gems especially not nowadays.

one-worded answered are usually just to boost your post count. when an OP offers an opinion - responding with 'no' is basically just spam and possibly inflamitory.
Â
and what would be the point of posting an opinion of something on a forum if everyone responded with 'no' or 'yes'?

Â
if you say so, but 1-word responses always come off as just someone trying to boost their post count (and at nearly 15k it's not too hard to believe that this is a possibility) or just aggrivate the OP by disagreeing without expressing why.

He answered the question .. no need for an explanation ..
What is an opinion? Just something you think .. always someone thinking differently .. so why waste our time explaining?

I have played much better.Of course i have to say up till about a year ago i had played 90% of my FPS games on pc so maby thats why i was unimpressed with r1. R2 is a better game though, not the best fps i have ever played but still a realy cool game. lot more fun. but the cheap a** one hit kills suck.

I just don't post often lately
Â
but I'm not playing WAR at the moment and it's quite late with nothing better to do so I'm posting :P reason for not playing war at the momet is that my guild destroys destruction (=D) and we logged off to let them take over a bit of the map so that they don't rage-quit and return to wow :P .

i actually hated the first resistance but i got resistanc 2 anyway. trust me resistance 2 is amazing. it improves on the first hugely. the 60 players is tight and story mode isnt boring like the first

Well I suppose you could say that R2 is just so so from the campain mode, but playing online I found to be a lot of fun.
I didn't think the game is all that great either. The multiplayer is really good and the trophies are smart ones, but I do think the single player is lacking something. I don't know what that is though.
Maybe it's that there isn't any effort to get into the main character much. He's really just a voice throughout the game play and the cutscenes just keep reminding you that he will be a monster soon.
It could also be that this game has the easiest boss battles ever. Beating the Leviathan, for example, was too simple for the scale of the boss. A couple rockets to the face, get thrown, two more rockets, get thrown, shoot bad guys, then shoot out bridge. Done.
The game may have also felt lacking because of the cheap deaths that are built in. I died several times just because the game designers decided I was going to.
Then the ending was as anticlimatic as it gets. That would have been fine if the campaign had been really exciting. Then the ending would have been a chance to catch my breath instead of realizing that the game never quiet got rocking.Â
Otherwise, this game is perfect.Â
It's a fun game. Certainly not the best fps ever but there are some good qualities about it. I wouldn't say it's meh though.
Resistance: FoM was awesome. Solid shooting mechanics, awesome visuals for its time, and an overall great experience.
But really, you have to remember that it's a launch title. You know, because not all games are made on the same day and stuff like that :|

This board's been lacking Asahina.

gameplay repititive? all shooters are repititive in one way or the other, overall I find it to be a better game then R1, personally the difficulty is annoying hard at times and I wish they have more variety in terms of online gameplay modes, the graphics are amazing at times and decent at other times as well, its a great game to me, but I would would rather play COD:WAW over it.

I'm always here :P I just don't post when I don't have something to really say anymore :D
Yes, these boards can use all of the Asahina it can get. A little bit of Nagato and Suzumiya never hurts either.

I dig the game myself...I am a fairly recent PS3 owner and the platinum price was too hard to ignore....I havent played the solo campaign, but have been going through the campaign in co-op with my lady.......I agree there isn't too much to get into as far as Hale's character is concerned, but there is enough variety for me to enjoy and the campaign is fairly lengthy so far....I can;t wait to get R2 when it is released here in Australia in a couple of weeks....bring it on...

well R1 was the first game i ever played on the ps3 so i love the first one.... but the 2nd blows the first one out of the water i give it a 10/10 imo
yeah i find it very meh as well, and the 2nd is even worst.... but i don't really like shooters as it is,,
First one was kind of nothing special for me too, but it was still good. I wasn't expecting much from the second one, but I have been blown away by the second.
The Single player in the second is just so much more intense and action packed compared to the first.
The coolest new feature is Co-op. The most addicting mode I have played in a game in a long time.
I havent got a chance to play the multiplayer yet but that is due to having to much fun in the other two modes.
