This has happened to me at least thirty times since launch. Its not static electricity either I am actually getting shocked and it is somewhat painful. None of my other consoles have done such a thing so I'm not sure what to do. I am having no other issues with the system and I use my ps4 controller to turn it on and off so I'm not sure if there is an issue with that button.

It would suck to have to send in my ps4 for such a trivial reason but that seems to be the only thing that I can do.

I'm not sure I'd call "Somewhat Painful" electric shocks trivial. You should return it as soon as possible if not for you own health then the health of your PS4.

Yeah that doesn't sound trivial, and they might be somewhat painful now, but if there's something loose and it gets looser, the shocks could get much worse.

I'd return it ASAP!

xD

That's pretty hilarious. But seriously that sucks, there's got to be some kind of short in the button of your PS4. Might be best to call Sony 'bout it.

I don't even know where the eject button is? I have had it since launch and have always had to eject the disc via the control pad option. Where is it? Sorry to be Duh!!!

Dude, probably out of the 100 or so times I pressed eject I got shocked like 3 times. Its like a static shock you get when your wearing a wool sweater and touch something electric. Not painful or anything. Your not the only one.

@craigalan23: If you're sure that it isn't static electricity, that kicks your finger. I'd return it because it probably means that some cable isolation is loose, and by some time there's a slight chance that the cable will touch something and all your P.S.4 will go on a short circuit.

might be a grounding issue with your home electricity installation, if the grounding (earthing) does not work, you'll get such artefacts...
