Anyone else glad Raiden is the nw main?

Spoilers for MGS series follow:

I love Snake now, MGS on PS1 was my favorit game ever and I was pissed when they had him dying in MGS4 (yes I know he didnt die in the end). But the story arc they did through those games went on long enough, it's time for a new story and even though I HATED raiden being the main character in 2 they made him way cooler in 4 so I can accept him as the new guy.

I have no problem with it either. We will probably see a lot of new characters in this new one.

kojima said this will be an all new mgs experience. so i think there will be little stealth involved and more action. also with the suit being present i'm thinking the story is either A) inbetween 2 and 4 or B) mgs4 from his perspective. "rising" in the title kinda implies that it maybe how raiden became the way he is in 4. leading me to think it may likely be A.

Im kinda upset about it. I could careless if it was exclusive to MS but not Raiden. He really just makes me upset

Doesn't bother me in the least. I think that Kojima is going to broaden the horizon and MGSR is going to be based more on action than stealth. The Metal Gear games are based on terrorism and war, and Kojima has told the legend of one man and what he had to do to stop terrorist threats, etc. So let's hear of the legend of another war hero and what HE had to do to become a savior. So it's not a betrayal to the saga it's just a different story.

I think the timeline for the game cant be determined because there are plenty of possibilities. Last time I checked, ninjas dont run out in the open and kill everything in sight. Lightning Bolt Action I think will have a good amount of stealth with very fast paced action. It wouldnt be very ninja like of Raiden to kill everyone rambo style. On a side note, if this game involves turn style fighting, like Final Fantasy, I will really laugh. I don't know why but that is what comes to my mind when i head LBA.

is it official that Raiden will be the main character? he sucked in MGS2 and he made me hate him even more in MGS4.. oh well, guess I won't be buying this one.. such a shame.. the main character didn't have to be Snake, but I refuse to play as Raiden ever again.SuperMario254

Your opinions fail so hard. :lol: Without Raiden it would be a lame franchise. snake is Mediocre.....

I have no problem with it either. We will probably see a lot of new characters in this new one.

.. the new dev team won't have to trust him because they won't be taking orders from him.. so why should they trust him? All they have to do is whatever route Konami wants them to take with the game, not Kojima. It's all about money, not staying true to ideas (sadly).
