i can never seem to play a game all the way through to completion for some reason, when i start a single player game...i enjoy it for a bit but then i find myself going back to playing nhl or madden or call of duty, i have over 15 games i have yet to finish that are just collecting dust on my shelf in my room...anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem :D Unless its story is great I usually can't finish it for some reason and go back to whatever online I was playing before or NBA games. I did this with almost every game even if they are good (uncharted 2, infamous, GTA).

thats not my problem, i actually always finish the game, maybe not in ONE sitting, i might switch games once in a while but my problem is i buy 3 to 5 games at the same time, even though i havent finished the others yet. i do get to them eventually but the games keep adding up lol. then again i have no problem with it lol

I have a pretty short attention span so unless the game is super good I usually don't finish it

Nah, I finish them unless they are really terrible. The only PS3 game you could say I haven't finished is Sacred 2, and even that I played a heck of a lot.

I have a hard time finishing games too. I always cringe when someone complains about a game being too short.

Yeah.... only recently when games got easier have I actually beaten them lol, I'm still stuck in every Zelda game.... I couldn't find any more keys in the Shadow Temple even with a guide, I still haven't killed Majoras Incarnation, I forget where I got in Wind Waker, Twilight Princess I got stuck in the Sacred Grove 'cause the skull kids never lined up into my attack circle thingy. O but I get distracted too and it takes me weeks to beat games, I usually end up just talking to people on XMB rather then playing my games lol.

I buy one game at a time and beat it. Right now I'm playing Demon's Souls. I'm 7 hours in and have only completed 3 areas :) Lovin' it!

If the game is really hard and isn't worth my time. Like Demon Souls then yeah I will give up on it. No doubt about that.

I finish most of what I buy. However there have been a few that I couldn't force myself to finish, as the thought of playing them again just makes me want to vomit. Those games were Dragon Age and FFXIII. These games I was so bored with, and trying to force myself to complete. I just eventually said forget it and sold them.

I always have on hand 10-12 games that I haven't beaten. When I return or sell back I just get a couple new ones..

Never been into sports games, even though people rave about madden and nba. I'll stick with real life for those.

But I always finish my games, usually 2-3 playthroughs. Except my life has been taken over by Borderlands GOTY edition, and I haven't even downloaded the DLC yet and I've been playing near 3 weeks already. Talk about a good investment

... Are you kidding me? Demon Souls is ridiculously easy once you get the hang of it...and it's pretty rewarding...

yeah the best game ive ever invested in was cod 4 i literally didnt buy another shooter till black ops came out, but madden is ok..it has become stale in recent years nhl and nba are amazing this year tho. i wanna finish bioshock so bad but i just can never bring myself to sit and play it b/c i see my friends on cod or my club team on nhl 11 so i end up jumping on those instead. the social aspect of online gaming is very addicting haha

If it's a good game I don't have any problem finishing it. If it's not good I don't have any problem quitting when I get bored or disgusted.

I know I do. I haven't finished a lot of my games. Here is a list of the ones I haven't finished and why.

GTA 4- Yeah, lost my save a while back and restarted this game. I did the beginning missions again and let's just say I'm discouraged because I have to get back to where I was, which was pretty freaking far.

Fallout New Vegas- I was into this game heavily and it froze on me during one playthrough. Again, discouraged that I have to playthrough a certain part again. Luckily I didn't lose my entire save, otherwise, I'd be very angry.

Killzone 2- Had to start my game over because I lost my save, haven't touched it in a loooong while. I'm making it my mission to beat it now!

battlefield bad company 2- Multiplayer is just too good!! I played through the campaign a little and like it, but I'm more focused on multi.

Saints row 2- This takes up too much space on the harddrive, so I had to delete it. Why do devs find it necessary to install the game on my harddrive? It doesn't make the loading any faster and I believe I bought a console, not a freaking PC!!

I forgot what else I have. I will get back to you when I check..

Before, people didn't finished a game because it was too hard, nowadays is because of online. For players like me, that love a singleplayer experience, this new trend is just horrible, games with a ridiculous short singleplayer campaign in favor of online (COD, Medal of Honor, etc.), they know that many people doesn't even bother with the SP campaign. I don't blame the guys that buy a game and jump straight to online, I blame the devs, online should only unlock after you beat the campaign at least once.

Not really. It's more of time constraint than anything. I usually buy more games than I really have time to play. There are times that certain games only can hold my attention for so long. So I pick up and play something else for awhile and then come back later on.

yeh i ahve the same problem.. although i think its more to do with buying games before i finish the one im playing. i just picked up like 3 games over the last week and i have dead space 2 and mass effect 2 coming this month as well without finishing like 5 other games.

also im on my second playthrough of ffxiii, im really not managing my game playing time effectively. ah well i will catch up at some point

Definitely not. When I start a game, I continue playing that game until I've finished, I could never play loads of games at once, never.

I grew up not being able to have many games that often so I have always played just about every game to the end. I would say I avoid getting into this situation becUse I also do more research into games before I buy them or just go for the rent. Id say medal of honor was the last game I purchased that was a flop. Im working on GT5 and ill say that i prob will not unlock everything or get a plat for the game cause its a great game but its so much to do that if i did it all id way behind on other great games Just about all games have some sort of review before release date. Mabye u need to search more so u don't waste money.

Usually I buy 3-4 games at one time for that very reason, so I can switch between them if I get bored with one. I always end up finishing them, because I can switch them even if I've gotten bored with 1 or 2.

No, not really, unless it's just terrible. Whenever I'm playing a game that's on the hardest difficulty and it's really hard I take breaks like every fifteen minutes though and usually delay and spend a lot more time than necessary.

I normally lose interest in rpgs when it hits a point in the story where you have to make a super long quest in order to advance the story line so I try to avoid buying rpgs haha I made the mistake of buying enchanted arms and I've only played 4 hours into it and I'm already bored with it

If I didn't push myself to beat games, I probably would have only beaten like five of my PS3 games, out of 30 total games.

i USED to have that problem with other systems. So far the PS3 has corrected that issue. I'm not sure what is different but I am really enjoying gaming again.

Games are like food. You'll get tired of playing it once in a while but after a few days you'll realize you want to play it.
