Mine is from about a month after NA launch and works great, except for the battery, and it looks like I'll need to order another online. The stores around me only stock batteries for the 3000, and in a couple instances the 2000.
Yep still have my launch day PSP of course it has been "slightly modded" but it still runs great, the battery could probably be replaced though doesn't hold much of a charge anymore.
I had to change mine, not really day one but still was a phat from 2006 if that counts I changed it because of wear and tear and because I wanted a slim, I'm very happy with it, still it's not the same, the thing is made from cheaper plastic. Some thing I can say, is that on the slim the D-pad is a huge step foward, now I can really play Street Fighter the way it's suposed to .
I do, though unfortunately it has got 0 play time in the last year and a half or so. The reason being is the R button doesn't work half the time and you can't go back to the home after you start a game it has to be completely restarted. :(
i got mine a week later they were sold out at most places but got the last one at target hah but works fine few dead pixs but dont bother me none, i got it with twisted metal still one of my fav games for psp
