Then again, I'm sure some people who smash all the buttons on their controller during gameplay might not be so happy at exiting to the menu so easily.2largeadults
oh well. maybe people should control their CP or Parkinsons before picking up the sixaxis..............
ouch, im kind of a dick..........
the only problem is I can't decide what to do with the free 2 seconds!needlesmcgirkim having the same problem!!!
question. why is there even a turn off the conrtoller option, it just goes off after a few minutes when the system is turned off.deadpool51if you are watchin a blueray movie or leaving a game paused for a while you can turn off the controller off to save battery life.

You can turn off the controller to save your battery charge. It ends up working out nicely.

I think most of you missed my point. My point was being they did some work on how the PS button works, and I'm really hoping that that leads into it being used for something else in the future...namely to bring up the XMB during gameplay.The_Rick_14Oh lol yeah I get your point. I always kinda thought they would bring to XMB to the PS button eventually. I doubt they will ever do the full XMB, but they could and should allow players to press PS and see the Users, Music, and Friends columns. I don't think that would put a lot of strain on the system, and it would be extremely convenient.
Hey, so I remember before 1.6 we had to hold the PS button down for one to two seconds to bring up the menu to quit the game, turn off the controller, or turn off the system. Well, after 1.6 just a quick press of the button bring up the menu. Maybe its just me hoping, but that seems to be a step in the right direction to allow access to the XMB during gameplay. So did you notice this and do you think I'm crazy??The_Rick_14yea i was going to post this as well.
Quick answer: no. Back on topic, though, yes it frees up like a minute a week, if you think about it. I mean, I used to have to wait a total of, maybe, 7-10 seconds a day on average. That's about a minute a week, or an hour a year! Thanks Sony :-) Now we can enjoy more life and help cure cancer at the same time =Dwhen you do that, can you listen to music or watch vids or access other things on the XMB (photos) while in game and after go back to playing the game instantaneously?

This is absolutely great news~
I got annoyed waiting for the PS button to respond... (and I've only been using my console for two days...)

I downloaded the update a couple of hours ago and yes I've noticed this. The download manager is a nice addition as well. I'm just confused about the Fold@Home thingy that it made me download. LAboy06I was just about to mention this... PS3 is just getting better and better.
