I don't care if a game is a port; I just care if I enjoy a game. For instance, I really enjoyed the Prince of Persia games on PSP. However, I don't see a great flood of ports hitting the system; in fact, I can only think of a handful as opposed to a huge slew of games that are original to the PSP.

Agreed. And about FFT, I played it, and had absolutly no lag.

Woah, I thought the FFT port was absolutely great. Worked perfectly for me. Loved every second. I do see your point with the Mana Khemia port, but nevertheless most of its problems could easily be solved with the Data Install feature, and it was a great game for those who didn't have a PS2 but did have a PSP. (A friend of mine enjoyed it a lot in the psp, having not played the PS2 version) I didn't buy it since I had and finished the PS2 version and don't particularly feel like playing it again. Other cool ports are the Riviera and Yggdrassil Union ports.

I don't mind ports at all, as long as they are well done. The Star Ocean games are a great example of quality ports. True, I'd love to see more new IPs, or new releases in older IPs, butANY goodgames are the system are welcome.

Honestly,

When I was 12 years old playing on my PSX/SNES back in the day, I could never go out and buy games for myself so there were a lot of Gems that I missed during that era.

My parents hated videogames and I would only be allowed 1 new game every 4-5 months. I had to be rational so I bought mostly RPGs and some Fighting games (cus they lasted longer).

Now that I'm older and Have a career, I want to be able to play the games I missed as a young man but without paying the crazy inflated prices on half/ebay.com.

I say, Bring on the Ports! I want them! I would love to play PSX ports of

Tomba!

Xenogears

Einhander

and such!

I have consoles at home. Having some great classics that I may have overlooked back in the day (in portable form no less) is never a bad thing in my book.

I think that if the game is good then it could be carried over to another platform. If its good enough to be ported then I would be glad to play it

Speak for yourself man!!! Bring on the PORTS, Bring on the SHOVELWARE, Bring on the Cross PLATFORMERS...whatever you all like to call it, if it is a good game, bring it on to the PSP system!! People want exclusive this exclusive that, just make more games. I mean you actually want every game to be built from the group up?? You sound like a spoiled little kid, and maybe you are. I work hard for my money so mommy and daddy are not buying my systems, I AM. If a really good game comes out on the Xbox 360, hey buy all means bring it to the PSP, If the PS3 has a great title, then again make a PSP version. Some people just have ONE system and ONE system is all they need. I am one of those many people. So I have turn off my PSP to play my Xbox and then turn off my Xbox to play my Wii? Get the heck outta here!! Id rather just change UMDs then to do all that cramp that many gamers seem to do. Asking for an orginal title is fine, but saying that the PSP should not get Gears of War or Infamous or Conduit is stupid. Bring them all on and give the gamers options.

Peace & Love

Bad quality ports can be annoying, but in general I love playing ports of old games/games from other systems.

Having FFVII on my PSP for instance is a dream come true. Love the MegaDrive collection, Castlevania and all the other great old RPG's, too.

I like ports as long as it's a quality port, as in it's just as good or better than the original. I don't really like watered-down ones. That said, I think the PSP's doing fine.

Mmm, I have to disagree a tad bit. I don't think it works the way your making out out to be. How and the world would they take a game, say, Assassins Creed and stick it on the PSP-- by just porting it. (not talking about the game Assassins Creed Bloodlines) It's not possible, and even if they make it work but it turns out to just be a laggy, long loading and plain out bad mess, why waste the time? It's not the same experience, because most of the time when they 'port' a game to a handheld, it's usually dumbed down and just doesn't have all that love that was put in the console brethren and occasionally vice versa. Now granted if they know they can make it work and play just as great as the console they are pulling it from then shoot by all means go for it. By no means am I saying, "Stop all these dang 'um ports!" I'm just saying porting everything that lives on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii-- heck even the DS, is just plain ludicrous if you ask me.

I dont mind ports aslong as I never got a chance to play them first time round. PSP is good for this as a lot of ports here were never released in the UK back on the PS1.

If I had an Xbox 360? Hmm, well it would depend on the better quality title. The PSP one or the Xbox 360 one. I would most likely not buy for both. Sure if I had a PS3 or an Xbox 360 and I was given the choice to pick between, say, I don't know, Tom Clancys: Vegas for either one of the consoles or one of the handhelds, I would more than likely just go with the Console counterpart because the game was specifically built for the consoles but just ported over to the PSP. By no means am I knocking the PSP version, (honestly I haven't even played the game period-- I want to granted and I might just pick up the PSP version) but chances are the console version is just all out better. And gonig by reviews from people who didn't exactly get paid to review the game, for both console and handheld versions, the console one has received the more praise.

Sooooo, having one version of the game is the smart normal thing for a gamer right?? OK If I remember correctly the TC had 2 different versions of Final Fantasy Tacties and did not like the PSP version of the game and suddenly yelled out "hey no more duplicates!" "we should only get original titles for each system."..........That would be a lot of work for game creators and also raise the price of games. It would also isolate gamers with certain system. The Rant was a bad idea. It is good that RockBand is on PSP and Guitar Hero is on DS. It is good that Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil & Grand Theft Auto comes to PSP. Saying thy should not because they already exist on another system is not a good idea.

Again I'll point out I disagree with porting everything to every console. Some games just don't work. Granted I think the TC meant more on the lines of true to form ports, not spin-off's or a game with the similar name but completely different. As an example, Assassins Creed: Bloodlines. It's supposed to be a new game entirely not a port of the first one-- or Rockband Unplugged as you mentioned-- it's not the same game as the console versions, I mean it plays completely different, so it's really not a port but more of a spin-off. (So is Guitar Hero DS)

Maybe it's just me but I think the TC wants something new. Not rehashes of older games just brought over to the PSP. Granted, if that's the case, the TC isn't looking to hard because I have close to 25 games and only a few are ports. Though If I'm wrong about the above mentioned statements that he wants a new series entirely (Like instead of a Socom game or a Metal Gear game that are specifically for the PSP) then yeah their aren't that many. Loco Rocco and Patapon being the only two I can think of off the top of my head.

Mana Khemia, Ys VI ports are all terrible with very long loading time and degraded graphics. Same goes for KOF Orochi Saga. :( I think that port games are better than no games.

Final Fantasy Tactics WotL wasn't a joke of a port. We just realized that the game is a little dated and the battle system was slower than we thought. Which is understandable since we were spoiled with Tactics Advanced and A2, which was faster. And did you check out the thread with the upcoming games list? Those don't look like ports to me.

What are so bad about ports? If you missed it the first time its your chance to catch it this time.

Agreed, I plan on getting FF7 because I never got my hands on a PS1. Nothing wrong with wanting the classics on a handheld.

Im planning on getting a PSP Go(not right away), Im gonna transfer all PS1 and PSP games from my PS3 PSN Store. so I dont mind porting at all.... no more turning on my PS3 that uses lots of power just to play PS1 classic games.

I hope you considered that I didn't own a ps1 or ps2...

And you insulted my favorite psp game (War of the Lions); even worse, by lying. Worse lag? Lulz. You have a 1000 model or something?
