Its what I got and what I wanted. I don't need the cable card stuff and don't need WIFI (i'm an counterstrike gamer so low ping times were what decided what server to get on, i.e. wireless latency didn't mesh with me). The only thing I want is the chrome trim, I like it

Same here, I also needed wifi cuz it was going to be so far from the router. At the time there were no real lists of what 3rd party wifi cards worked properly w/ it as well.

Well. If you could get it that cheap here. If you could get it at all. 20Gb wont be available in Europe. 60Gb will cost at least 900$ here.

Not me. Ive used maybe 1Gb on my 360 and Ive had it since launch. Sure if you feel the need to never erase anything and keep every single demo that comes out you will fill your drive fast.

That is the one I purchased as I viewed it at the better one to get.  I don't need Wifi and those memory card slots are basically useless because you can just use a thumb drive for any device that you want to transfer information and if you don't have one then you could buy an adapter that converts your SD cards to USB out for a few bucks.

The 40 exta Gig is a joke for most people.  As I would assume upwards of 80% of all PS3 owners over the course of its lifetime will never use up the 20 gigs--and if so you can buy 120gigs HDD for about $70.

I only see the 60 gig as being useful if you have to have Wifi--and I am not sure, but are there third party devices yet to offer this for the 20 gig model?  If so I think Sony should drop the 60gig model and just sell the 20gig.  Then it would help with everyone thinking they cost $600 and not knowing that there is a cheaper model that is just as good.  Then all the articles would say it costs $500 which is an easier pill to swallow for the masses looking for a next gen system.

And we can say to the people with only 20 gigabytes "Oh ya, well mine has wifi and memory card slots!" if we want to be immature

20 gig is worthless next to the 60 gig model.  The wireless online capabilities and extra storage space make it vastly superior.

If you don't have wireless than 60gig is pretty much worthless unless you really want that chrome trim. I say that because the HDD is upgradable so you can spend an extra 100 on a 120gb HDD or a 300gb external HDD.

No, it's wired. The light is a solid green online and it has another green light saying the PS3 is registering on it. I test the network connection on the PS3 and it gets an IP address automatically, but then when trying to go further, it gets an error message about resolving the name of a server. Is it because I'm supposed to have my computer run through router with the PS3? I took the ethernet line, from my cable modemn, out of my computer and directly into the router. For some reason the PS3's internet won't work linked directly to the cable modem. So, I leave my PS3 the only line connected to the router. Is that why it won't work? There has to be two different lines coming from the router for it to work?

60 GB is far better. If you are spending over $500 on a console you might as well go all the way. Get the memory cards and the wi-fi built in, then if you need it....you have it. Also the chrome trim looks much better then the flat black dull look of the 20 GB. Also putting a bigger HDD is a b****. The screw is hella hard to get out. I would know since I put a 120 GB in mine. I don't even use wi-fi anymore, but I still bought the 60GB because I want the full experience. The 20 GB model is crippled imo.

Hasn't anyone ever looked at how big the saves are for the PS3?! NBA 07 for a save is 3GB? THAT is such bull that it needs that much for a save, especially for a game with poor reviews, and an issue with ports such as COD3, for the 360 only needs 1mb, while the ps3 version needs over 600MB!? And that version has a poorer framerate. I'm surprised people aren't taking about this?

Even though the main thing I prefer the 60GB for is the availability of built-in WiFi (although I'd rather use a physical connection as it tends to run faster), I just can't resist the shiny goodness of the chrome trim. Even though you can get the 20GB system and drop a 120GB HDD in it for cheaper than purchasing the premium system, I just feel like a cheapskate for not going with the most expensive one... And don't forget the shininess of the chrome trim... Love that sweet sweet shine... >.>

I`m sold. Furthermore, I`m even happier to have the 20GB model since they won`t be available in Europe at launch (and little is known about possible sales afterwards). I have a separate memory card reader and I`m not going to play online due to lots of a**holes out there trying to build their ego by belittling someone. Chrome trim?! Give me a break! I`d rather put the difference in cash aside for a car I`m saving for. Some people have other expenses than just consoles and games :P

well, the wifi is okay but its not ultra fast either. Id rather use the gigabit ethernet because my area is starting to use fiber optics for the internet area which is gonna be 100mbps!!! ( i live in laguna niguel Orange county California) THE only downside is you can't have remote play with the PSP which is kinda a big deal considering they will come out with some Awesome features in the future. like ps3 play wifi on your psp in your house/toilet. or psp using your ps3 to watch movies and play songs wirelessly. OR my favorite, possibly playing games on your ps3 using your psp anywhere in the world! i remember an article saying something about that in the future. that got me really excited. sd card readers aren't that necessary because the ps3 has usb ports so you can hook it up to your computer if you want all your pics. the chrome is cool, but im sure in the future you can customize the look. the 60 gig is not that big of a deal because you can upgrade to a higher capacity. for the extra hundred something bucks you save, you could get Two games for PS3 or 4 GREATEST HITS games for PS2 OORRRR buy a Nintendo DS for 120 bucks!!!!! ! i think the 60 gig model is great, but for the best value, i think the 20 gig wins for casuals/anybody who loves gaming and movies. For hardcores and people who have a psp or plan on getting one, the 60 gig is a must.

The reason I bought the 60GB model was because of WiFi, Memory Card slots, and bigger HDD.

I'm no expert, but I have a suggestion. Turn off power to computer, router, PS3, Cable modem. Do nothing for 30 secs. With the computer as well as PS3 connected, turn on cable modem, wait for about a minute, turn on router, wait about 30 secs. to a minute, turn on computer, wait till it is finished starting up & then turn on PS3 & wait about 30 secs. then give it a try. Here's hoping it works. (fingers crossed)

Unfortunately I can't seem to find a 20GB in my area in canada or I would have tried to buy one.
