I needed the wi-fi as well. Also, i wanted larger hdd space, as i know many people who used up their 20 gb 360 drive pretty darn fast.makingmusic476
I think the PS3 has outstanding value. PS3 20G model: 1.3 HDMI Bluetooth Wireless controller with Tilt Function. Blu-ray functionality for 7.1 surround sound support and 1080p gaming. (And movies if you want) All Media type playback Full Backwards Compatitbitity with PS1/PS2 games. Gigbit Ethernet
upgradable 20Gig Harddrive USB ports No Power Brick Huge cooling fan quiet linux operating system Slot loading tray (no more of that previous loud and faulty PS2 tray) 100 % FREE INTERNET PLAY Downloadable content
All for 499?!?! are you outta your mind?!!?! Thats a steal! abodaghee
That is the one I purchased as I viewed it at the better one to get. I don't need Wifi and those memory card slots are basically useless because you can just use a thumb drive for any device that you want to transfer information and if you don't have one then you could buy an adapter that converts your SD cards to USB out for a few bucks.
The 40 exta Gig is a joke for most people. As I would assume upwards of 80% of all PS3 owners over the course of its lifetime will never use up the 20 gigs--and if so you can buy 120gigs HDD for about $70.
I only see the 60 gig as being useful if you have to have Wifi--and I am not sure, but are there third party devices yet to offer this for the 20 gig model? If so I think Sony should drop the 60gig model and just sell the 20gig. Then it would help with everyone thinking they cost $600 and not knowing that there is a cheaper model that is just as good. Then all the articles would say it costs $500 which is an easier pill to swallow for the masses looking for a next gen system.
[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]Nope. I had to have the memory stick slots.SirRavenSame here, I also needed wifi cuz it was going to be so far from the router. At the time there were no real lists of what 3rd party wifi cards worked properly w/ it as well. And we can say to the people with only 20 gigabytes "Oh ya, well mine has wifi and memory card slots!" if we want to be immature
Couldn't find a 20gb, so I had to buy a 60gb.dunamistheouthats flipped for me. i found a twenty but i left that same night and went to a different BB cause they had 60 available. i wanted the wifi :D and chrome :D
20 gig is worthless next to the 60 gig model. The wireless online capabilities and extra storage space make it vastly superior. angus1343If you don't have wireless than 60gig is pretty much worthless unless you really want that chrome trim. I say that because the HDD is upgradable so you can spend an extra 100 on a 120gb HDD or a 300gb external HDD.
[QUOTE="Eman5805"]wireless router?I wish I could SELL mine and drop a bill to get a 60gig, cuz it's turning out to be hell trying to get my 20gig online...I have a router and everything but keep getting the same damn error message...

No, it's wired. The light is a solid green online and it has another green light saying the PS3 is registering on it. I test the network connection on the PS3 and it gets an IP address automatically, but then when trying to go further, it gets an error message about resolving the name of a server. Is it because I'm supposed to have my computer run through router with the PS3? I took the ethernet line, from my cable modemn, out of my computer and directly into the router. For some reason the PS3's internet won't work linked directly to the cable modem. So, I leave my PS3 the only line connected to the router. Is that why it won't work? There has to be two different lines coming from the router for it to work?

The reason I bought the 60GB model was because of WiFi, Memory Card slots, and bigger HDD.

I'm no expert, but I have a suggestion. Turn off power to computer, router, PS3, Cable modem. Do nothing for 30 secs. With the computer as well as PS3 connected, turn on cable modem, wait for about a minute, turn on router, wait about 30 secs. to a minute, turn on computer, wait till it is finished starting up & then turn on PS3 & wait about 30 secs. then give it a try. Here's hoping it works. (fingers crossed)Please Log In to post.
