anyone else think pixeljunk eden is terrible?

i played the demo and im annoyed. the devs were talking about this game like it was made by jesus himself and i was looking forward to the trophies, but this game is so bad so boring and has no point at all i just cant waste the money on it. trophies or not there is no way ill pay 8 euro for this game (scee rip us off)

i was gonna buy it for the trophies but if i play anymore than 1 level of this game the music alone will drive me mad. on top of that its plain boring. come on swing from tree to tree with your flying white thing.....degeneratron from vice city anyone??

anyway if this game sells well ill be really angry at the pixeljunk guys. i thought pixeljunk was just a name i didnt know it was ment to describe the quality of their game. the devs knew this game sucked so they gave it trophies so people would actually pay for the torture.

anyway i jus wanna know what ye think of it, am i the only 1 who thinks its 1 of the worst games on psn

i actually thought it was really fun. i can see how it can be hard at first since everything is mapped to one button but once you get the hang of it by giving it some time it is really enjoyable.

oh and i actually liked the music.

I think it's an excellent game. Very soothing yet still interesting.. I hate the giant FAILED screen though, lol. If it's supposed to be a casual game that you can relax to and enjoy, then I don't see the point of having such a painful game over screen.

But why the hell would you buy a game "for the trophies"? That seems like the worst reason to even be interested in a game.

I want to like the game but I'm not sure I will. The biggest problem is that you use X for almost everything, I don't know how many times I pressed X one time to much and missed the flower and then you fall back at the start again. The sperm or whatever you are are moving far to slow compared to the games clock and they have worked really hard to put those plants in the exact right place so if you miss ONE plant you fall all the way down to the start with no timecapsules or anything and then you fail.

I'm disappointed in the game.

Trophies and achievements = fail. I wish they were never invented. All it means is that the richer person has the higher score. shabab12

no it means the better gamer has te better score or more trophies. you have more 360 games than me but i have a better gamerscore. if you are good at games nd get all gamerscore or trophies in that game then you may have more than a person owning 10 games

What about TMNT and Avatar? you get 2000gp without even trying. I hate achievements because no one plays the game anymore; they play with the goal of getting a rediculous "achievement" like beating the game using 98 bullets.

I don't like what achievements bring to the table... they create stat-padders and achievement whores. e.g. there is a Bad Company achievement for getting 20 squadmates to spawn on you without you dying. So what do people do? They don't try to be an effective squad leader or necessarily stay alive and help the teammates spawn near the objective. They just get a squad of friends that keep suiciding over and over and then spawning. How is that an "achievement"? I only like achievements/trophies if you get them under normal playing conditions...

I was disappointed on my very first play because of the odd controls. But once I got used to the way the character moves, the game was pretty great. It is easy to get hypnotized and sucked into the game's atmosphere.

No point? Are you kidding me? It is a completely new and innovate take on the puzzle genre. It is a puzzle game. What is the point of tetris? What is the point of Bejewelled? The point is to have fun! Hell, what is the point of Halo or UNcharted is you want to be a complete brick about it.

I plan on buying it when it comes out...and NOT just for the trophies. But because it is an enjoyable, innovative game.

The game is fun, additive and unique -- i love it.

Maybe you should just for PixelJunk Dungeon or the possible PixelJunk Monsters Trophy+custom soundtrack support patch...

xD i love this game...once i got the hang of it i actually started going fluidly all over the place...only thing i dont like is i found 2 of those things that end the level at once...but u only can get one =(CosmoKing7717

I completly agree with you. First Garden, I got really annoyed with the way it moved. I didn't even make it to the first Spectra. But upon retying, I got more used to it, and can agree it's a really fun game. It's a neat little game to fire up when you want to just kill 20-30 minutes......... which ends up turning into 2 hours but I digress :p

i've played alot of games and pixeljunk eden is AMAZING pure fun. it was ok before i played it with a friend. maybe thats why you didnt like it.

I loved the demo, so damn fun, got mad when I couldn't buy it, major tease.

The game has a lot of things to master, I'm sure the people that hated the game hated it cause they just couldn't understand how it flowed or kept running out of time, well a little hint, if you gather 5 pollen monsters they explode into a small cluster of time crystals that you can grab, also if you grow 2 seeds back to back the 2nd one will make a cluster of time crystals, it also does it for the 3rd and so on I believe but I can't remember, if I could just play again I could confirm it, sad that I ran through the demos alloted level runs so damn fast, game was a blast, can only wonder about multiplayer, would be neat if it were online coop and offline of course!

trust me alot of ppl complain bout if it has trophies or not, its their make or break,

on topic though, i think the game was relaxing yet hurrying, you relax by flying and spinning but when you look for the pear shaped tokens your hurrying ur @*s up. i think if you fall staight to ground from really high, the ossicalater should slow down.if i have the money this is a must buy.

Anyway, when I first played Eden, I didn't understand it. Like, I eventually got the first spectra, but I didn't see what was so amazing. But when I went back and played it again, it just clicked and now I think it's one of the most amazing games this gen. It's beauty is in it's simplicity. I really can't wait. I actually deleted my savegame so I could replay the demo again.

And really, people, wanting a game because it has trophies? Lame, lame, lame!

Anyway, I liked PJ Eden. It's definitely a slower-paced game, but that's what the PSN games really should be, IMO. Sometimes I want something simple that I don't have to focus on so much.

The game is pretty good. Yes they should have put regular running in with the jumping and the X button has control over too much, but once you get used to way it is, you won't find it so bad.
