Definitely. I don't see why anyone with a PS3 wouldn't be, to be honest. It allows for true player interaction in a social environment, offers creativity, game functionality, and most of all, it is free. It will be great to have a better environment for meeting the people on my friends list.

You forgot the part where you can fly in second life.
The ONLY fundamental similarity between second life and Home is that in both you can customize something. In second life you can customize the sandbox, or you're property if you own one, to your EXACT will (you can build from ground up). Home, I assume, won't have as many sandbox features as Second Life (Which I won't like... I really wish we will have full control over what our apartment looks like from the walls, to where stairs go (if we can have them) etc. etc.) as it will mainly be more like 'The Sims' in terms of building stuff it seems to me.
It honestly seems Second Life will be far superior, but the fun thing about Home I think which I'll enjoy is being able to stream movies off you're PS3 for your friends to watch. I think that feature is going to kickass for me.
a little off topic but has anyone thought about how long it will be after LBP is released when users start creating levels with 10000 + genitals ...some crazy bugger will do it within the week it hits
I don't think many people who have posted on this thread realise the possiblitys of home... (ifyou did i didnt notice :P) but with the announcement of play tv you could (technically) record one of your favorite shows.. and watch it with your mates in HOME. you wouldent have to go 500 miles to see your best mate that moved house... create and show off your home and style play your music... theres soo much stuff you can do.. and alot of it could turn up in a few months after its initial relese. there will be inside information for people that say completed heavenly sword sop they get axcess to a room in HOME that shows exclusive trailers/information about say: heavenly sword two... the possibilitys are endless. :D

yeh but all you must do is stay away from those levels and block the creators from your PSN, but I am looking forward to playing good levels too.

isn't Home the same thing? while you cannot build your own place, you do get to customize your apartment. and Sony is always talking about how people can later on in Home's lifetime create their own content and sell to other people.

i haven't been thinking about it lately. if it turns out to be more of an advanced Sims + virtual myspace for gamers then it's something to look forward to. SIMS online is expensive! Home on the other hand is free. I'm excited to see how well it turns out with hundred + thousands of people on it. what'll be funny is that homeone day turn into MMORPG. invadepeoples homes and trash their furnitures. or when someone forgot to turn on their alarm, a burglar breaks in and steal their couch. anything can happen. :P
I was excited for it when it was first announced, but now Im not that excited. I'm more excited for the games coming out because Home won't even be that good at first it'll lack a lot of things. In 2008 though I will be way more excited for Home more games will have adopted it's features and such so far I've only heard of GT5 prologue using Home.
Not sure what to think. I bought the PS3 to play games not so much to interact with people. Movies? That's what NEtflix is for. I don't know anyone who owns a PS3. If I want to chat I use something called a phone.
I really do not get what is so great about it. Sony needs to start coming out with some games. I socialize in real life, remember what that is? It looks like the sims, which is very stupid in my opinion.I want to be playing mgs4, not home. I have a home already, give me games!
Kinda looking forward to seeing what its like. It'll be fun to sit in the virtual world and wait for PS3 games to be released. Those will be good times.
