Hey, This mite sound strange coz im not sure how to explain it. i have a full 1080P plasma by LG and an 80gb duelshock 3 PS3 runs fine plays games awesome and movies BUT i use 1080P via HDMI as my max resolution (auto Detected by the ps3) and when using this the PS3's xmb? i think its called..i guess it smudges...when i scroll accross or up/down it leaves traces of its self on the screen that remain there untill i goto a screen that is not the XMB screen i change to any other setting for example 1080i and its fine no smudge...if thats what you would call it...any idea's here? my T.V is a LG 50PS30FD Full HD...so its full 1080p tv...its got me...loooks very messy

Whether its temporary or permanent im not sure, but plasma screens are known to have an image burned into them if there is no movement onscreen (ie pausing a game and leaving it for an hour)

yea i no that and i no LG plasma's are well knowin for IR, but in this case the smudge(duplicate images) what ever it would be called is instant like if i scroll Left straight away the XMB would of duplicated its self hundreades of times causing a smudge like trail behind...then if i Scroll right (back over the smudges) it erases them smudges and makes new ones in a diff position..??

I don't think it's burn in. Try adjusting your settings, it sounds like motion blur. Try tweaking your settings. I have an LCD TV, I was having a similar issue, I turned down my settings from MAX, I created a gamer setting (Custom), I don't have the blur issue anymore. I am running 1080p with a 60G PS3, connected also with an HDMI cable. Hope this helps.

On my settings screen: Picture mode: Standard Advanced Iris Auto 1 Picture: 75 Brightness: 75 Color: 80 Hue: 0 Color Temp: Cool Sharpness: 70 Game Mode: On You may have to adjust your settings lower than this, It took me a while. The newer TV sets have a higher refresh rate around 240Hz, I think most older TV's are around 100Hz. The newer TV's are coming out with the higher rate.

i dont know i this has to do with anything....but if you look at most PS3 games say supported HD output is 720p...usually it isnt 1080p sometimes i see 1080i but barely ever 1080p...
