The site offers:

advised to turn your firewall off for the 1st download (as others will be OK after)

2, yes 2 customer testomonials

and the icing on the cake is that if you want the latest games for your ps3 you can download via 56k!!!!!! Yep- check the faq....lol 8 months to download a game @ 24/7

I'm not sure how advertising works on this site, but I'm sure those scam-like sites were linked/generated through rights given to 3rd party advertising sites approved by GameSpot. Either way, I'm assuming GS has little or no control over what those sites really advertise.

its a shame coz Gamespot is a popular website with i would think many young gamers that can't afford to buy games and would perhaps be taken in by this service.

in fact i wonder how many people have been taken in by this website via gamespot, as its obviously part of a group that advertises for all platforms.

There's a thread on the Site Enhancements & Feedback board to notify GameSpot of such scam sites being advertised here.

I'm sure it just slipped by GS's defenses. That is a horrible site, though. They have another just like it for the other consoles. I hate how a bunch of a-holes are trying to take advantage of people like that. I hope no one is stupid enough to sign up so those guys fail. I googled the other site and there were a bunch of people on different forums saying they took their credit card info and gave them invalid password. They never got into the site and they never were able to contact the site administrators. They got charged and most of them had to call their credit card companies to stop the charges. The few people who actually did get into the site were redirected to free torrent sites. Its sad really. But then again...... That's what they get for trying to pirate. :o

A BIG rule of the net. Never click on ads. But I agree. Why have it on this site? I thought they frown on piracy?
