Im sure if they make the gameplay mechanics really really good. And the fan response is " We Need Warhawk Single player back!!!" Then they will do it, if not in a new game (more likely) or a downloadable expansion (I would ratehr see this being supported)acidBURN1942
Havent you noticed that developers don't give a damn about people? They do it their way, you like it or not. You know how many people wanted single player in Warhawk? More people wanted it to have single player than just multiplayer. Still they decided on multiplayer. How many people wanted DMC4 to be a PS3 exclusive. Still it's going to go to the 360. How many people want FFXIII to be a PS3 exclusive....there is a good chance it will go to the 360. How many things we want and hope that developers dont care about???? Millions....all I see is promisses and nothing delivered btu taken away from.
Well a lot of devlopers dont give a damn because its their creative property not ours and it is a business so they try to mak what will sell.
There are a few devlopers out there that truly listen to the fans, CCP comes to mind as do a few others. The best way to voice your opinion to them is with your pocket book, the second is on their official forums. BioShock got a collectors edition because enough fans signed the petition.
Who cares if a game stays exclusive to the PS3 as long as the PS3 still gets the game WHO GOD DAMN CARES!!!! Its a business and they need to make money. I think the only games that should be exclusive are 1st and 2nd party games, with a select few 3rd party devlopers deciding to fully utilize one system. Other than that I would make the game that I could on all the systems I could get the full experience on, that way I would get more money to keep devloping good games.
Getting games on all platforms you say. Ok, than look at Splinter Cell DA, F.E.A.R. and I'm sure that R6 Vegas will look like Sh*t as well on the PS3. I think as soon as developers decided that they will go multiplatform tha game will suffer. Why? Because they invest a lot of money and time to develope for more than one console insted of investing all that on one. I would love to be prooved wrong but my hopes aren't high for even GTA4.....I wanna see what will that game deliver for example. One city only? How big? It's like going back in time.
Those games were devloped on the x360 first, then ported to the PS3 which is a new architecture and is very hard to program for RIGHT NOW! Why? Because its still a fairly new system. Once everyone gets use to the hardware. All multiplatform games will be running fine and no difference will be seen, and if there is...it will be minimal.
Again so what is GTA4 is only one city? They are devloping a NEXT GEN gta they can't make the world 50x the size of San Andreas and still give us everything we want thats next gen that we dont even know about, unless of course instead of the game getting released in October 2007 you would like it to get released in October 2010, which would make it the only GTA on next gen console. give devlopers time to learn these new techniques and architectures. Do you program or devlop mods and games? I do and its tough work and a continuing learning experience ESPECIALLY with the speed that technology moves at.
I understand that it's a new system. I understand that it's hard to develop for right now. But it's not an excuse to deliver bad graphics or bad games. Also it's not an excuse to make something smaller than it was before. It's like Tekken 4 after Tekken Tag Tournament. I was dissapointed with Tekken 4 as hell. So few caracters. I don't want GTA4 to be 50x larger than S.A. but I want it to be at least as big or if it's small than not noticably smaller. But we know to little about GTA4 but as for what we know about it.....it's hardly what I expected. Maybe I want to much...but there where so much promisses and there is nothing delivered. There is 50gb of disc space for god sakes....why can't they use that? And don't even tell me that if they where to make GTA4 as big as SA was it would have came out in 2010 because that's BS.
Your right! Its not an excuse to release bad ports, they should have either NOT released them or taken more time on them OR just waited till the sequels to make sure both experiences were top-notch.
Tekken Tag Tournament was suppose to be like that though, and Tekken 4 they changed the fighting mechanics (which was worse idea ever by Namco) so they couldn't add everyone back in or they would have to had balanced everyone out again taking more time which equals money.
Yea it might not come out in 2010, but it would take a year or two more, the point is it would take much much more time to make all that content. More characters, more level design, more textures, more sounds, they have to pay people to make those. If they cut back on the "size" they can focus on a highly polished game while they learn the systems, ALSO they can start making money and hear repsonse from the fans on what they did and did not like about their next-gen GTA and then they take that info and money and start making GTA: (Weird City Name Here)
They won't use 50Gb of space because 50gb is a LOT oh my dear lord a LOT of space to fill. Thats a lot of content to make, thats a lot of time to spend. There will be games eventually that take advantage of that space, by using uncompressed files and high resolution textures but it all takes TIME. We are in the first-gen of teh next gen. Things will move slow, but with time we will see high quality games every which way and not know what to do. Right now there are just not enough high quality games to compare and contrast to.
The best thing we can do, is take our knowledge and passion of the industry and reform it from the inside by making high-quality games that will make other companies want to follow in our stead.
Youre absolutley right! In every way! I know it takes more time and money to develop more content....but than! Raise up the game's price to 69.99. I'm sure that each and every single person who played GTA before will buy it no matter how much it is....it could even be 79.99 and people would still buy it. As for me....I would buy it even for 99.99 if it was as big or bigger than GTA:SA. Just look at Halo 3. There are 3 edditions.....59.99, 99.99 and 129.99Â . I bet you that many people will buy the 129.99 edition.
