I'm just wondering how many if anyone plays games mostly on their handhelds. I'll go ahead and define mostly as meaning that you play video games about 70% of the time or more on a handheld such as the psp, nintendo ds, gba etc.

So for those of you that play consoles and handhelds, do you find the games on say the PSP good enough to distract you from console gaming? Or do you play your handhelds mainly on the go?

I've found myself a handheld only gamer these days because I'm on the road all the time. Since I travel so much, it isn't feasible anymore for me to lug a console around with me from place to place, just to get some gaming in. Granted, there are games on home consoles that I'll never be able to experience in portable form, but I haven't been much of a gamer the last few years.

I don't even have the patience to finish FFXII and though I'd love to play Okami, I know I'll never get around to finishing it because of my lack of interest in taking time out to setup and play on a TV. I'd rather whip out my portable when I get the urge.

I actually play my PSP/DS a lot more often than my X360, Wii, or PS2. Even though most of my gametime is infront of my computer or on my bed, with my consoles right next to me, I still find the games on portables just as entertaining.

I'd say I play my PSP/DS 70% and my console (PS2) 30% of the time. Might be beacuse my first system was a gameboy color ;)

I play Handhelds about 90% of the time, and 10% consoles. I've normally always only playing GBA/PSP/DS games, because my mother and her boyfriend likes to play systems alot, and if i start getting into a console game they normally take the PS2/Xbox/GC, whatever for months at time, and when we get it back i loose interest. But with handhelds no one touches those but me, and i always have it around. And it great having a really good game with you where ever you may be at. I mostly play it in my room, or in the house somewhere. Now i started playing the PSP at the cpu desk, with the new USB charge option. :D The only real games i'll play on consoles mostly, Final Fantasys, and The Halo series. ( with the exception of DMC 3. )

I am more likely to play a PSP game before a console game just because I don't have a proper setup right now (need a love seat or a lazy boy). I'd say 75% of my time is spent with my PSP and the rest is divided evenly between PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast and MUGEN.

Well I have to say I'm pretty surprised by the polls. I hope we get a few more responses, but it seems the majority of people play handhelds most of the time or at least divide the time equally between consoles and handhelds. I haven't played a console in a while, I stick to my psp/ds/gba pretty much exclusively and was curious to see if others might as well. I've been thinking of selling my handhelds and games and going for an hdtv along with a ps3 or xbox360 but I'm starting to wonder if its really worth it. The main factor keeping me back of course is cost, even if I sold all my games and handhelds that would probably only be enough to get either an xbox or a ps3, and then of course there is the cost of the tv, although it would double as a computer monitor for me which would be pretty nice. I already have a decent sound set up too so I could make use of it. I haven't played a console in a while but if the games aren't a whole lot more fun than they are on my current handhelds now then I guess it isn't worth the cost.
