MoH from the PSOne Classics is a great game and something you should play to get perspective on where the game has progressed to... you will need to re-map the control layout in order to get it to play nice. The default button mapping makes it almost hostile to play. I have posted my custom set-up on these forums under "MoH PSOne Classic Controls" or something of that nature. My button layout makes it play very similarly to PSP-specific MoH games ("Heroes 1 & 2"). The sould design alone on the early games in the series are reason enough to check it out... you can determine where enemies are walking with the 360 degree nature of the sound.
Hope this helps... it's $6 well-spent in my opinion!
:D
Edit: Here's my layout for the controls -
