anyone played valkyria chronicles and not liked it...?

if so.....what didnt you like about it....

I didn't like that it was too awesome.

I played the demo by the way.

All I've heard are good things and am curious to know about what it does wrong, if anything.

I need more opinions before I can form one of my own and eventually buy.

LMAO! But seriously, the only thing I can think of that's a negative aspect is that it ends. It's one of my all time favorite ps3 games and that's the best I can come up with.

I played the demo .. just wasn't my style ..

I hated it because it was to EPIC!!

A flaw is that the characters aren't made of awesomeness. At first glance they really aren't anything special. But all of us that played it know that they are special in their own way (now go"awww"). Something I don't like is that the enemies are too bland, enemies come in three colors; black, red, and grey. They could of made use of some more unique enemies.

I played the demo .. just wasn't my style ..

I think most of the people that didn't like it never played the full game. They all mention "i tried the demo and couldn't get into it". But a lot of them never gave the full game even a rental. The thing I could see people not liking about the game is maybe the fact that it isn't final fantasy or a straight up shooter. It's a weird blend of strategy, rpg and third person action. It never really focuses on the tps or rpg side of it.

yeah, that exactly what i did, and those are the reasons why i didn't like it...

I am, personally, a bigger fan of action JRPG like Tales/star ocean than turn based ones like FF, but i get your point...

That is why demos exist, to have a gamer try out the game before deciding wether to buy it or not. If the gamer found something pretty cool or something awsome about the demo, then of course the gamer will buy it, but if the demo fails to partially or fully capture that gamer's attention, then there is no way that even a rental would be considered.

When I buy a game I go by my hype, research, and/or a demo. I seldom base it just on one of those. If I am not majorly impressed with a demo and I read a review that says it's a great game I will at least rent it.

This question angers me. Not liking Valkyria Chronicles is like not liking Jesus or tacos. Who the hell doesn't like Jesus or tacos?

In all seriousness though the game isn't perfect. There are certainly some minor flaws in the game, but that doesn't stop it from being the best game on the PS3. Menus and whatnot are not the problem at all.

I'm only half way through so my opinion might change, however, I love the gameplay hate how the story is presented. I find that it's extremely slow moving with having to select each individual clip to advance the story. Also the voice acting can be attrocious at times, with some very corny lines. I find myself just reading the subtites and moving through it as fast as possible. I just can't bring myself to completely skip the story. In fact I've never been able to do that with any game.

But the gameplay parts are great!

Whoa, whoa. Its easy to see people getting put-off from the demo. I tried out Eternal Sonata's demo and I didn't like it. But if the game somehow winds up in my hands I'll try to beat the game. With VC I think everyone that plays it long enough realizes that the game can't be bad because everything just works sooo perfectly and the missions give you a lot of satisfaction when beating them.

I have Valkyria Chronicles in my library and I couldn't get myself to finish it.

I made it to the part where you're able to pick team members and upgrade things. But the story is just not interesting, the characters aren't interesting. And the music is dull. :?

EDIT: The gameplay was pretty good. :)
