I absolutely adore those old FPS games, and prefer them over many of the newer games, but i just wish that the PS3 would just have one of those old shooter come for download. I realize that some i could get for ps1 and use on my ps3, but they don't come with the online co-op and death-matches, which are what make modern fps so appealing. anyone agree that we should have a classic FPS on the ps3? id like the original doom over all others preferably, i mean, hell the xbox 360 has duke nuken coming out soon, marathon durandal, and doom already, not to mention rumor of doom 2, so why couldn't ps3 get its hands on one of thees classics?
If you want to play them, why don't you just buy an original copy? I don't see the mass appeal for downloadable games, unless it's something new. 100% of the time i'd rather play the original version.
I own quake, quake 2, quake 3, and unreal tournament 2004 for pc. I love the old shooters. Too bad quake 3 is the only one with a really active online.
yes, those are the games that put me away from the FPS genre, first the camera movement made me sick, and the targeting was insanely hard for me and it was all shooting killing then shooting then killing which was too dumb and violent so now I suck at FPS because these games made the FPS genre su*k
yeah dude all where good idnt like quake 1 much but #2 was sweet duke nukem is very high on my list fkukn bad ass haha "its time to kick ass n chew bubble gm.. but im all outa gum" hehe.. i like modern fps games too though its slightly hard for me to go back to the old half life and golden eye and whatnot... but thats a good idea you have im sure alot of people would eat em up n it would be good for sony n the fans of those games but omg im so stoked for duke nukem forever... makes me wana yell COME GET SOME! ten years in the making... this game will be epic...
I only like duke nukem from those games. Always found doom over rated. But I think those games don't work with the new gamers. They get to repetitive. Plus we all know duke will never get a game. Every year the same rumor gets thrown out there for it. And every year no new game. :(

Quake I and UT 99 FTW!!!! I loved those games, but Resistance and Warhawk are my new loves. UT99 used to be my favorite game and while UT3 is fun it just doesn't hold my attention like Warhawk. I will always remember Warhawk as fondly, if not more fondly, as Quake and UT99! Those games were true classics but I can't play them any more; I am a hardcore gamer always looking for that next high

Ok Super Mario - Buy a Wii. Dunk Nukem - Buy a 360. Goldeneye - Quantum of Solace for all systems looks really good. Turok - They alrady have for PS3 but it was utterly terrible.

Dude Doom, and Quake 2 are pretty much all I play on my PC besides an occasional RTS.
I've been trying to find enough reasons to buy a 360 recently because there really aren't more than 2 or 3 360 games I'm interested in and, after seeing duke nukem 3d announced for XBLA, I took the plunge. So many good memories...
