The PSP does get some good games every year and the summer drought is shared among consoles. But seriously nothing ever playable (not good) gets released until like September (Tekken in July of last year withstanding).

2005 great launch.....massive summer drought (nothing).......GTA: LCS

2006 some good games early in the year SF:DM, Daxter........summer drought (cept Tekken)........MGS:PO

2007 Ratchet and yeah not good so far........summer is even worse than last year.....massive rush with CC and GOW etc. end of year

Ugh frustrating.

We still have some decent games coming out...Tomb Raider Anniversary, both Final Fantasy Anniversary games, Brave Story, Tales of the World, and at the end (sept. aug.) Monster Hunter 2, Jeanne D'Arc, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow, New Coded Arms...etc etc are coming out.  Crush should be coming out soon as well, and that's looks awesome! :)  Its not like it matters if an abundance of good games doesn't come out every month...unless you just have to constantly buy something to keep you busy.  There are plenty of good games on the PSP that you can check out and purchase during this drought as you call it, so this time period will help you catch up with what you missed ;)

Like I said I know the drought is for every system but the PSP is a total wasteland while other systems get atleast one or 2 games worthwhile. Tekken is niche game. If you like fighters then this is the best game on the PSP. If you don't you won't like it as much. I happen to like it quite alot as does Gamespot.

All consoles have a summer drought. 1-2 will come out for the summer period, when everyones off school. But most delay launchs till around christmas. I know it sucks, but it's when game sales peak.

I'm saying for the PSP it's excessive. 360 has Forza, Wii has Mario Party and Pokemon, PS3 has Warhawk. Rainbow Six Vegas will most likely be a very crappy port. First of all the controls just won't work on the system (needs a second analog and more buttons) and Ubisoft just doesn't port games well. The original game though is usually great whcih RSV on the 360 is.

summer months dont looks so bad for the PSP, there's a bunch of games coming out for the system. games like crush, PQ 2,  RB6 Vegas, FF, Tomb Raider Anniversary, Manhunt 2, Dungeon and Dragon Tactics, Tale of the World, Alien Syndrone, Brave Story, Silent Hill: Origins, Jeanne D"Arc, Dead Head Fred, GRAW 2, Naruto, Syphon Filter LS, Castlevania and loads of other games.

and while some may pass up on games like Rb6 and GRAW if the developer make these games on the PSP with the hardware in mind the games should be amusing just look as what Syphonfilter dark mirror has done.

No way do I see a drought of summer releases for the PSP, with so many games it a great thing that the psp is portable and I can take all these great games with me while i'm on the go!

Not just PSP, happens with all consoles.

But with Odin Sphere, Grim Grimoire, Raw Danger (PS2), Dragoneers Aria, Jeanne D' Arc (Possible June-July releases), and 5 PSP games I have not even got the gist of, It will be a nice summer for me:)
