Hello there,

I've been looking at the X2VGA 2 (http://www.x2vga.com/product) so I can play a PS3 (which I should be getting hopefully next week) but I was wondering if anyone as used it and could tell me what they thought? I've been reading some great reviews of it but for some reason people have been moaning about it to. Does anyone know if it would be worth the purchase.

I'm currently using the 360 VGA Cable to play my XBOX 360 on my PC Monitor but have been taking a good look at this.

Thanks.

I have a surround sound type system that I kind of wanted to use with my PS3 like I do with my 360.

well you should be able to use the digital out, other wise, you will just have to not plug in the audio to x2vga and run it to your audio device.

ok, I don't know to much about how these things work so could you be a bit more detailed. From the diagram on their website it doesn't look like they have a Digital out.

im using the device its a sweet thing it also looks sexy next to my ps3 exept for the sound but no worries

just plug the sound cables from your compnent cable into

this: it has the red and white connection in the back

or if you want to use your sound system you need to buy

and this

the last thing is a 3.5mm sterieo jack coupler that helps you join the plug from this phono to 3.5 mm stereo adapter with your surround sound that stereo jack coupler has jack input on both sides.... its like connect 2 seperate cables with eachoter....

what surround sound system are you using which type because i also have a logitech surround system and mine had a adapter included because mine has multiple jack plugs....

and do you also have a component cable because a composit cable included in the ps3 box wont work with the x2vga2

ahahha lol

i got exactly the same sound system you should have received a adapter with this system if not i would call the hell out of logitech!!

if you have this adapter its a black little box you are set you only need a component cable which you can find in any store where you bought your system... just ask for a ps3 component cable not expensive 25 euro it has 5 plugs 3 for video and 2 for audio...

for digital sound you need this blakc box this surround system has 3 plugs a black green and rose

ill make a pic of this black box with my webcam brb

looks like this :

Yeah I have one, I'm currently using it for sound when playing my XBox 360 :)

So that means all I need now is to get a PS3 component cable, Is it different then to the one sent in the box. I'm actually getting it online so I'll take a look around for one, it's starting to make sense now :P

Thanks a million mate, helped me out with this one big time.

this is what you got with the ps3

composite cable : i still dont understand why sony did this

only 3 plugs 1 video and 2 sound this wont work with the x2vga2 because the x2vga2 needs 3 video plugs to upscale the video output up to 1080p if your pc screen supports that... read the documentation on the x2vga2 site for color code etc

you need this: component cable

see more plugs 3 for video and 2 for audio those 3 video cable goes into the x2vga2 and the 2 audio cables goes into the black logitech box....

have fun with your x2vga2 you wont regret it im sure... :)

Ok will do, I'll get probably order the X2VGA2 tomorrow sometime and I'll get that component cable. Then hopefully get the PS3 next week sometime. I'm getting Resistence first and will be renting Motorstorm to give it a bash. I was going to originally buy F1: Champ Edition, Resistence and Motorstorm all at once but Motorstorm and F1 I'm not 100% sure about so renting MS and going to download the demo of F1 before purchase.

Anyhow, again thanks a lot for all your help and time.
:)
