[QUOTE="Tech-Man08"]i did but i forgot how to get to it. Could u tell me how to get to it?hxcpride
lol. just download tversity into your pc. and then drag all the files u wanna see it on ps3 (movies, music, photos etc)
download it here http://tversity.com/
Thanks
Please forgive my syupidity but how do you then put them on the PS3?Soundwarp
You don't have to put anything onto your PS3. You should just let tversity transcode them for you if they need it and just keep the stuff on your ps3. If you MUST transfer the file, all you have to do is find the file you want on the tversity server and then hit triangle and choose copy.
I have tried multiple times. I usually can get it working for a day and that's it. I won't change anything, try to stream and my PS3 or 360 won't be able to find my PC.
On a side note, I got a new XPS Dell laptop two weeks ago. When I got it, I found it had an HDMI output on it. I now have it sitting on my on my entertainment center and hooked into my system. With that, I can access content off my desktop PC in the other room. I can also watch anything streamed off the internet like Netflix or Hulu. I can also get at the iTunes store and rent movies or watch podcasts. I bought a wireless laptop with touchpad to use with it on the couch. Works great!!!
I do... it's OK, but the 360 does it better. For some reason my PS3 always disconnects me from the media server. But when it's working it's great... I wish they'd let us access it from the in-game XMB. Who keeps music on their PS3 hard drive?Generic_Dude
well if its disconnect from the media server...your internet connection could have been unstable at that time, it happen to me too.epscially during peak hours :-S

Alot of people dude....the PS3 isn't just a toy...it's an awsome media hub.
Media sharing is ok and I still do it once and a while but I'd rather just store the media directly on my PS3. Especially now since I upgraded my 60g HDD to 250.lol MERC_RECONN
how do u upgrade from 60g to 250g? like can you buy a normal external drive for pc and install it on ps3 instead??
i dont get it how ppl can do that man? is that possible? cuz im tempted to do that and store all my movies in there LOL.
you can check at tversity.com
not sure if it will compatible with mac, but theres heaps of FAQ on the site. you can check it out,
yeah well tversity let you watch podcasts, video streamings and other files in your pc...
it can get annoying when your internect connection not stable tho, and itll disconnected, but thats
depending on your internet connection.

Yes you can use an external drive to store and stream media directly to your PS3. But make sure it is fat32 formatted.
I have a mac, anyone know any media sharing programs for mac.FatChuwawa
Yeah, I don't have the website adress on me right now....I will send it to your mail-box as soon as I get it.
I share movies with my PC on PS3 without TVersity. I locate the movie I want to see through my internet on the PC connection and then copy it to the PS3 HDD and watch there. Does TVersity has a smoother way of doing this? Please explain..

well meaning you put your movies into the PS3 HDD then, which it will take the ps3 space...i only have 40 gb and i got A LOT of movies in my pc, i got 500 GB in my pc lol.so i dont really wanna stuff my movies into my PS3 HDD since its only has 40gb, unless i buy a laptop external drive for 250gb and install it myself.
well ps3 becoming my media hub here, i can also watch streaming movies from youtube, and even podcasts...from my ps3 and projects to my 32 samsung lcd. i think thats one of the advantage using Tversity.
if you can use linux like suggested above, i wonder if its possible to set up a ftp server or some sort through the web browser to stream it instead of downloading it to the hard drive.machiavell8x8
im really not sure about that man, may need to research on google for a bit aye....or maybe post a new topic about that.
im just shooting idea's out there as alternatives to these media sharing programs, i heard they are the devil. im sure when i finally get around to setting mine up ill figuer it out somehow

But you can watch Youtube on the PS3 without TVersity. Will other sites like Gametrailers work if I download the program? And another question, if I use the TVersity, can I acces my external HDD on PC through PS3? Thanks for the fast replies!

better to watch your youtube and podcasts in full screen then like a tiny box on your pc isnt it :P
yeah man you can add your own channel in Tversity! you can even subscribe those podcasts videos.thats the beauty of it!
PS3 cant access your external PC HDD, it only can read the files that you organize in Tversity from your pc..to play it on your ps3... and it detects automatically,...

the only thing i use Tversity,...is to watch my movies that i downloaded from my pc ( avi files or divx)....cuz i rather watching it full screen on 32 inch tv instead of my 19 inch monitor lol.
i just use Windows Media player to share my music and video's with my PS3. It works good, only the huge list of mp3's doesn't really load fast and if you want to listen a song with a name that starts with the letter E to Z it can take a little longer to find it :P And it's too bad that the ps3 doesn't support .mkv files. Almost all my downloaded tv series are in 720p .mkv format.b4rtsimps0n
yeah well i got old version for my windows media player lol. well i dont really listen to music on my tv lol...the only thing i listen to my music is whenever im on pc and doing my design work ahha. but yeah however i do watch a lot of my movies
on pc to ps3, so that Tversity really help me a lot i guess.
