I was just thinking about trading in resistance as I have finished it and I thought, wouldn't it be better to be able to make straight swaps with other people rather than get naff all for games at a store. So does anyone know any websites where this can be done? If not we could set up our own boards or something.

I was thinking it could work by people posting what they have to trade and what they want and people can reply to topics, maybe each person has a topic for trades or something which they can update. If the two people trading didn't know each other or they were both new then the games could be sent to a willing third party first (a trusted regular member who volounteers or something) and then sent on by them. Then there could be a good feedback forum where people are scored when they have completed successful trades. Once members start getting lots of good feedback they could start requesting that new members send them games first then they send their own once they have recieved the new member's game and that new member then starts to build up feedback.

Hehe sorry if I'm rambling, this worked on a card trading website I used to visit and thought it might be a good idea. Let me know what you all think.

yeah but with ebay you have everyone competing for prices, it is a lot of hassle and you lose money to them and paypal. This system deffinately works once you have a strong community going. Also you would get to play loads more games than if you sold a game and bought another everytime you got bored of them.

Thanks, well I just set up a quick invision board if anyone wants to join and see how it goes and we can play it by ear. To start with we're all going to be new members so I may need some well respected gamespot forumers to be neutral trade parties for a while until people build up reputations. If anyone wants to help with moderating or art to smarten the place up then please do!!

here's the link: http://s7.invisionfree.com/gametraders/index.php

1. http://www.sayswap.com/

2. http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/homepage.asp

3. http://www.plumpcow.com/default.asp

Not sure which one is more reliable but read everything about the site first. I'd go with sayswap.com, looks more legit I guess. Anyway, use at your own risk! I didn't tell you about them! lol

thanks for the advise but those sites are out to make money, I don't want to pay for the privelage to swap my games really. Also, those rental sites look great but I'm an archaeologist so it wouldn't make sense to sign up when I am away for months at a time.

If anyone wants to give my forum a try the address is up there somewhere. I posted a few games I have that I want to trade.

Those trading sites are your best bet because a forum isn't going to be as organized and secure about this stuff. Someone showed me a trading site a while back (with no sign-up fee I believe) which I can't remember the link to.

GOOZEX.com is a great trading site. You list all the games you have and then you make your request list. If someone requests one of your game, you send it to them. They credit you with Goozex points, in which you can use to get the games you want. The only thing is you have to buy trade credits, which is one dollar a trade. Which is not bad.

I've been making use of www.itradevideogames.com for buying/ selling games. It works similar to Goozex as you get iBucks to spend toward other members' games. You still have to buy iTrades at $1 each but that's no biggie- have to pay for server costs somehow, ya know. ;)

Sounds kind of risky, and how can you have an impressive gaming collection if you have no games in it!?!?

I've used GOOZEX many times and I think they got a great trading system8)

It's based on points so you don't have to directly trade, tough to explain, just go there and see

well I wouldn't organise trades if I was in Turkey or Cyprus or something would I.

Ok, so these trade websites, they seem all well and good and I'll check them out but it's not quite what I'm thinking of. With a community based trading system you can get to know people and make trades based on what you want to play as appose to what point ranking a website has.

For example, say someone has just bought a PS3 and they have one game but they have had a psp for ages and have got sick of all these games. Someone else that has played to death the ps3 and has just bought a psp to go with it might be able to aquire loads of psp games that they have never played for just one of their ps3 games. Then everyone is happy.

The forum community think certainly works I've seen it before but if the userbase got large then it would need a php backing or something, but by that time you could maybe help the cost of that through advertising. If anyone wants to see an example of one of these communities which already works, with the feedback system in place, then pm me.

What can you lose by signing up and testing this out? You might find some great deals.

Oh and Goozex is only for Americans

I was just thinking this sort of service might exist only a few days ago, and now I find they do! Wow, cool.

This is way better than just selling your game on ebay. Gamezola looks good and seems reliable and cheap.
